Which manager departed today?

Recommended Posts

shambles.

He should stay until sacked, get the compo owed to him - and by all the recent dealings, he'd be better off away from that lot.

His managerial record should remain untouched if he is sacked - people in the game will realise he was simply working under a complete Knob-Jockey of a Chairman.

Bang on sly, chairmen of football clubs are derided universally, but this one is taking the art of being incompetent to a totally different level.

Think PD is under some threat 5th bottom 12 against 1 scored in the last four games.

That game at Charlton when they were 3-1 up which was abandoned and then losing in the re-arranged game is starting to look crucial.

Dickov might not be a good manager, but he's certainly not a lucky one...

Tan's own private statement, released at the same time as the curt and begrundly short Cardiff City FC one, is a piss take.

To brush off sacking a manager who got you to the League Cup final, won the Championship and delivered Top flight football for the 1st time in 51 years; to the money pot of the Premier League - leaving with a win % of 43% at the end of it, with such little respect and attempting to swing the blame onto the same manager is such poor form.

The next manager, regardless of how much they're offered wage wise, wants their :censored:ing head checked if they agree to work for him.

Awful chairman, awful way to conduct your business...

In slight defence of Vincent Tan...

Tan gave Mackay and his director of football a budget. Tan had done one to Malaisia and left those two in charge. They overspent by £15m. Regardless of whether he has the money to offset that is completely irrelevant. The boss gave them a budget that they didn't stick to. Personally I think he is well within his rights to be pissed off, should he have sacked the director of football for overspending? Some might say yes... but Tan is a foreigner who is laughed at for how he looks.

However:

His handling of MacKay shows a lack of respect. There is a way to deal with things, personally I think Tan should have privately said "there will be no more money for transfers". The way he has gone about it smacks of a lack of foresight to me. The majority of fans were loving Tan in May. They (not all but a large percentage) didn't care about changing them to red, now history is being rewritten.
