He pretty much admits that the sacking is warranted but then seems to be arguing that he should be given the chance to stay at the club in another role. I don't think he'd be making that argument if Powell wasn't black. And I very much doubt Powell would want to stick around anyway. Presumably he'll be looking for another job in management.
