When what ? Celebration Sunday February 8th 2004 we beat Grimsby 6-0

of the teams in league one that season, 2 are now in the premier league- Brighton and Bournemouth

and

5 are now non league - Stockport, Wrexham,  Hartlepool , chesterfield and Rushden and Diamonds, who may no longer be in existence

where will we be in another 15 years?

AFC Rushden and Diamonds formed in 2011. Doubt they have real aspirations to become a league club.

Depends who the owner/owners are over the next 15 years. Could be non league, could be Championship.

All lies, got to give AL a chance to sort the club out etc

:clown:

You’ve clearly never run a business.... the state of the club and the books have killed previous chances of investment. Confirmed by joe Royle as they looked at us before buying Wigan.

Paying off previous debts is still happening 14 years of mid management is going to take longer than a year when the money being invested isn’t massive amounts at the moment.

Does that excuse what the girl accused the club of doing?

That's not an excuse he took the club over in January racked up the wage bill and stopped paying pensions in April because he fucked up he has no idea what he is doing.

I didn’t comment on that though you’ve said AL is a liar and shouldn’t be given time to correct it. I think it’s wrong what has happened with the pensions.

Corney and co sold off land and built a stand and then saddled us with the debt. We have no real income other than matchday. Of course the club would struggle yet our fans still think he did a great job.

Clubs in this league are struggling on a monthly basis - Macclesfield and Bury off the top of my head. We haven’t had a  county court judgement in a while and wages are being paid. Even corney didn’t pay wages on time again no one ever mentioned that.

The whole plan was to take the whole thing over and instill some legends on the board with Joe at the helm. It just wasn’t financially viable in the end for the Chinese.

Wrong on both accounts when Corney et al took over the club the land was owned by the council and THEY bought it back ...

the stand (and the land surrounding the ground) is owned and payed for by brass bank (ie Blitz and Gazal (and maybe Corney) , did the do a great job, , probably not,  but considering they supported the club financial for 14 years and without them Oldham Athletic wouldn’t be in existence is something we need to be thankful for

Wrong.

The bill for the stand was added to the club debt.

Downvote.

They didn't financially support the club for 14 years they did for just over 6 when Blitz walked to concentrate on brassbank we started to get in trouble.

Give it a rest Simon :)

So they didn’t knock down the Clayton and build houses on it then?

with current lapsed permission to build more onto Little wembly, pararell to the back of the Frizzel stand and turn up to furtherwood/sheepfoot lane. Replacement pitch was to be a catherdral rd on those plans

With the council keen to build houses in the borough as part of the greenbelt grab..sorry current consultation. Brownfill to be used but possibility that lapsed housing permissions could be looked at again. So we could very well see more building happening around BP in the near future

Down vote , how old are you , FFS grow up, as for the debt blitz and gazal have both said that the debt won’t be recalled until we are in the premier league ... but that can be clarified when the trust hold their meeting with brass bank

Yes they did knock down the Clayton arms   , lees brewery owned the pouring rights, so the only money the club made from it was from hiring out the 5 aside pitch ... regardless of that build of a couple dozen houses built on the site I’ll hardly have raked in a fortune

If you really think I’m Simon Corney, then I can recommend a good psychiatrist

Hope not, that would affect rebuilding the Chaddy when the time comes, as the occupants of those houses would most likely object if the stand was to be higher and nearer to them than the current one.
