Ex players and that

People on here were doubting his ability for sure. Saying he’s lost it etc. He’d have played his way into form given the chance. I’m confident of that. He’s far better than anyone else we’ve got on the books. Without a shadow. He should have been given a contract. I think he’d have signed one, rather than moving to Devon. Even though they are a better side than us.

Love you to pieces Jose 💕

He'd do well in most sides in League one if he can get his fitness back, sadly, he was given ample opportunity and encouragement here but it just didn't work out.

It'll be weird seeing him on the opposing side, hope for our sake he has a stinker.

He will go for around 500k again and we have lost out on that money.  Short sighted, he was getting fit and coming into form. Was worth another punt, a half for Baxter in ten times the players maouche will ever be.

Whilst agreeing he was worth the punt of another contract it would have been just that as he was nowhere near match fit anytime during his 2nd stay.

His failure to get even close to 100% fit no doubt contributed to the decision not to extend.

Now I get that some on here don’t rate Maouche, but the constant attacks on him by one or two on this forum border on boo-boy tactics. Is it really necessary?

Baxter just scored for Plymouth. Jules (SSN) just said nobody has ever doubted the ability of Baxter - clearly not been in this forum.

It’s a travesty that we’ve (PS aside) not tried to build our team around him.

Love you Jose 💖

I think Shuck has hacked your account

Baxter was getting back to being worth a starting place last season, much more than that is wishful thinking and how shit we were IMO. Oddly he looked better coming back from longish injury, he was running like a bag of bones at the start of it.

He also hasn't started a league game for Plymouth.

Gave a tab to an old bloke in outside the River Head in Marsden. Got talking and it turns out he was George Sievwright. Played for us alongside Jimmy Frizz in the early 60's. Told me 3 times that he used to say to opposition forwards... "If you do that again, you'll end up over the road". The opposition replied "why, what's over the road". "The fucking hospital" George would reply in a stern Scottish accent. Definitely a different era... Got the impression that time hadn't been overly kind to George or his finances. Was a nice bloke though and seemed appreciative that there was an Oldham fan over the wrong side of the hills who was genuinely interested in his tales.

Not the most gifted of players, but he was a right little tough nut. He'd be called a midfield enforcer now.
