Ian Wright on Twitter

Recommended Posts

Have a look but made a pretty indefensible response to a tweet from an oafc account reminding him of his spitting incident in 1992.

Trying to remember the details of the game - we lost 0-1 and I think we thought he should have had a red card but wasn't given and then got dogs abuse and when subbed got into a situation with a Latics fan.

Fan spat at him, Wright spat back and in the subsequent fracas he pushed a police officer.

Anyone remember more?  He got an FA fine for £1,500 for it.

He's claiming there he was spat at first, but a few years ago he said he'd been racially abused

That's right....maybe someone should remind him.

Unfortunately doesn't show the incident but he and Meron gesture after a last minute goal which was part of the fine they received.

always thought he was a 100% player and do enjoy his punditry

as suggested, someone may have said something derogatory but he should have been big enough to rise above that kind of stuff

spitting at him is just the lowest of the lows imh. doesn't give him the right to gob back mind

there is also Lee Dixon, who complains about players going down like they've been pole axed trying to get others sent off. He was gently pushed by Holden and collapsed as if he'd been hit by a truck and got Holden sent off.

He's become one of the best pundits on TV as well as being one of the best strikers this country has produced.

The second bit I'll give you, but only just, the first- Nah. Watching him on MOTD he isn't in either Shearer or Linekar's league and is a waste when paired with another striker (as well as Linekar). That doesn't even take into consideration the likes of Carragher and Neville who are head and shoulders above most of the Association Football pundits on TV.

Someone did, and someone got banned from posting on Twitter for 12 hours. Post all the racist and misogynistic abuse and violent threats you want but don't question a celebrity.

The real problem is not shown on the video. Wright twice got away with elbowing Earl Barret in the face withina couple of minutes. Both were quite deliberate and sendings off. Earl was still seeing two of everything a moment later when Wright scored. At the end you can see Earl confronting him. He should not have been on the pitch to score.

He used to be terrible but is good value now, as is Shearer.

'Anybody who refuses to play for his country should be made to explain to the parents of a soldier who has been killed in Afghanistan'

His intelligence was proven when he came out with that one...
