Up to Saturday he had clocked up 9 yellows and one red this season and he has scored most of his goals from the penalty spot. He’s got a reputation of winding players up and getting them booked and sent off. He’s become a truly nasty piece of works and I am told that he really did something serious to Mombie to get him to retaliate. Retrospective action could well happen against him. So fewer yellows than Gardner and Byrne and the same as Fane. Hardly one of the worst records in the league.

This is patently not true. Yesterday was his 2nd penalty of the season.

According to stats he’s the fourth worst disciplined record in the league. This published in last Saturdays BAWA. Worst is Matt Crooks Northampton 11 yellow 3 red

opinions4u
Are we any closer to knowing how violent the hair pull was? Did Wellens really say he saw video of a punch? Could a hair pull look like a punch or not? Did Wellens fib? These are big questions!

Wellens said quite clearly in his radio manc interview after the game that he saw a video replay and saw Moimbe throw a punch and deserved to be sent off. He also said that Moimbe was fouled beforehand the punch was a retaliation and therefore we should have had a free kick rather than a penalty given against us.
