Wardie
Doubt there'll be any announcement from Latics, he's gone and Burnley is nothing to do with Latics. The 'Chron will probably do a small article and possibly drop a remark about the fans being left in the dark.

Surely they will thank him for that ?

laticsmarra
The club will find it very difficult to explain how after 8 months of investigation the FA have passed him fit and proper to work in the Burnley Academy.

I agree. If nothing else he deserves acknowledgement and thanks from the club for so many years of great service. Our club's tribute should already be out there. Clearly they have parted on bad terms so would be a bit weird if they produced a gushing tribute.

I never quite understand the need that some have for official validation, I'm sure Tony will know that he has the respect of the vast majority of Latics fans. kowenicki
It would be very odd and perverse for the club website to pay tribute if they have parted on bad terms. TP know that the fans liked him.

Who said anything about a gushing tribute? A simple acknowledgement of his many years of service is what a decent board of directors would come up with. Do you have a problem with that? Sorry, BP, I meant Burnley have nothing to do with Latics, not TP...obviously he has been an amazing asset for the youngsters and I wish him success wherever he is. I still believe it will come down to the 'Chron doing the article and nothing from Latics, although I hope they do.

No problem at all, just not sure that it is a common occurrence for someone who has been sacked for a perceived disciplinary matter... latics22
No one knows what went on it’s pure speculation, it wasn’t the usual sacking AL is hardly discrete about these things....
RoytonLatics
Former youth player Ashley Kelly has put the following on twitter: "@OfficialOAFC won’t comment because the treatment of Philiskirk has been a disgrace. The club have tried to tar the blokes reputation & future within football & if the club want to query that, feel free to let me know & I’ll put exactly what I know on twitter for your fans. #OAFC"
