Digging Around Looking For Positives

Recommended Posts

Macclesfield away is a top away.

Won’t have to loan out Hamer, Edmundson, Stott ‘for experience’ we can just do it ourselves.

Couple of quick seaside visits to Morecombe and Grimsby.

Probably have a fair fight and then a pint with the locals in Newport.

Reasonable journey times to Vale, Mansfield, Crewe, Carlisle.

Maybe renew rivalries with the ‘posh’ bin dippers.

Novelty trip to Forest Green.

That’s all I’ve got, feel free to chip in..

Looking forward to it!

Based on what? Carlisle rolled us already with the squad we had this season and didnt even make the playoffs.

Maybe yes however we didn't have Edmundson and Hamer playing for us in defence

I see like this...

OAFC - we don't deserve to be here and it's an easy season for us!

OTHERS - great! another 'has been' to get 3 points from

Memories of a cold, grim one nil defeat in Cleethorpes on Boxing Day. Late eighties? Still brings a shiver.

Macclesfield the big bonus for me. My girlfriend's team, been to the Moss Rose a lot in the last couple of years. It'll be nice to be in the away end there.

Just a shame there are 23 home games to get in the way of all the fun along the way.

There's not one decent fixture for us next season  :disappointed:

If exeter go up in the playoffs(decent weekender trip though), and the dippers come up, its not that bad, yes we are in league 2 but we might give it a go.

And where the fuck is forest green??

In 1998, on the way to the F.A. Cup game at Cardiff, supporters of Latics and Eintracht Frankfurt had a lunchtime session in a pub in Newport. The following day the Eintracht five-a side team was beaten by the Latics Ladies in the Clayton Arms Sports Hall. A lot of Jagermeister has flowed since then; the Newport pub has closed down; sadly some of the supporters of both Clubs are no longer with us; but the friendship is stronger than ever and there has to be a reunion there next season.

Yes ,fish and chips in Cleethorpes and Morecombe fronts not to mention Hooters bar  if Notts stay down.

Big positives will be to see Hamer,Edmundson and Stott progress .

After a weekend in which the sunshine has helped offset my anger I am now  looking forwards to seeing us start off a lot better than we did last season and hopefully stay in the top 6.Nothing guaraneed though

Personally, I find hooters and other such establishments embarrassing!

Aaah Grimsby away, Ernie Cooksey scored one of my favourite away goals there, ran on to it and leathered it like Carlos Alberto in the 1970 world cup final, still makes me smile thinking about it now. Hooters in Nottingham, got taken in there on a charity nightwalk by 6 women about 4 years ago, they didnt seem to have a problem with it, beer was a bit shit though....

Lots of terraces in League 2.

The doom and gloomers will be able to get good value on any relegation bet.

Lots of new grounds so some will be able to complete the 92 solely on watching Latics.

If we come straight back up it will probably leave us in a better position than staying up and stagnating in League 1 for a season.

Let's just wait and see . We are all pissed off and gutted we got relegated but I'm sure there will be statement this week from Abdullah on future . Doncaster went straight back up 2 years ago . I think Abdullah will get us sorted this summer weather wellens stays I don't no. I'd like him as a number 2 he knows players and club well. Next season we should be winning alot more than last season aswell so Saturday evenings will be better with 3 points . Let's all keep the faith and get this club promoted straight away this time next year open top bus through the town.

I really don’t think promotion back to the graveyard of the last 21 years will warrant a bus

*if it happens
