On paper that squad should not struggle in League 2. The reality is probably different, which is frustrating.

There is pretty much the first team squad there, in theory releasing a few more of our largesse would leave us with a League 2 ish squad with the odd over paid player.

So there could conceivably be a smattering of action on the transfer front rather than complete overhaul.

Duffus has been scoring regularly at Waterford will be worth a punt and maybe his striking counterpart who has put a few away alongside him . Think the rest of the squad would be very competitive in L2 with a full pre season

Just noticed the statement says ALL players, so maybe some free transfers and mutual agreed releases like Peter Clarke are going to be announced soon.

You could be right, up to 6 by my reckoning. We'd need other clubs to buy them out though.

How on earth has Benteke been offered a deal? Thought we were making a bit of progress on this front when I saw Omrani had gone.

He's only played about 5 minutes, bit harsh to judge him on that.

That's my point. Surely if hes any good he'd have got more than 5 minutes in a team that couldn't win for toffee.

We can't say that for sure, I would say RW trusted Davies too much after a reported injury where he was far from his best.

See point above that he was only basically here on trial not to play for the first team this season. It was to see if he had enough about him to be developed and offered a contract for next

Has there been any announcement on which - if any - youth players have been offered or signed pro deals for next season?

It normally happens around the middle or end of April. I appreciate first team worries and an uncertain future may have delayed decisions, but if we're making decisions on first team players' futures surely the youth ins and outs will also have been decided by now?

Other than Hamer signing a pro deal I've seen no news.

I saw a tweet yesterday from Simon Cooper with them all pictured, and him saying they all had bright futures. Got the impression it's not been announced/they hadn't been told yet. Am sure not officially.

Well Abdallah wants to develop youth players which suggest a long term approach  Lets hope we can find another Hamer and that we can keep him.

Being somewhat underwhelmed by the performance of the team and the manager these last two months I'm intrigued to see how Whelsagem can add players of character to turn the corner on the underperformance.  Simply put we don't have a goal scorer.

I suggest we will see Placide, Clarke, Hamer (rumoured return on loan), Fane, Maouche and Davies find new homes probably with the exception of Fane and Hamer for free.  There could even be some contracts paid off.

Think the tweet said half were moving on after 2 years.
