2018/19 Predictions

Recommended Posts

It would mean an overhaul of the system I use. The way it works is that all the points scored automatically transfer to the table, which is then resorted into the correct positions.

When the tables are posted, all you see is everyone's predictions (blue sheet) and the actual tables. What you don't see is the actual game's results, the automatically accrued points for that game and that produces the cumulative total which automatically transfers into a table. Once that is re-sorted, it's copied into the format you see in the post. So the spreadsheet has 46 tabs (one for each match) and 4 sections to every tab.

To add extra points at random would bugger all that up.

Does all that make sense? The bottom line is that it will have to stay as it is. And quite apart from all that, I really don't want to be calculating everyone's attendance predictions against the correct figure on top of what I normally do.

Sorry folks.

Stone cold last.

They’ve had us as bottom of League 1 for the last 5 years or so too! I’m really not sure what to expect this season, but bottom of League 2? Can’t see it.

Stone cold last.

Football League podcasts D3D4, Not The Top 20, and The Totally Football League Show all have us relegated as well. The other thing they all have in common is that they are wrong.

EDIT: Well I'd heard Totally had us going down, but I've just listened to it, and one of them says we "might struggle" which I don't have any complaints about him saying. Still wrong though. ?

We may have an amazing away following as a percentage of home crowds but you're all a set of lazy bastards who can't be arsed to even cut and paste

Some amusing Predictions in this thread.

Anyway out of Interest, we were beaten to this accolade this year too.

Mansfield took over 5,000 to MK Dons on Satday, coupled with over 4,000 to Notts County earlier this season, they averaged 983 on their travels this season, 21.9% of their home gate.

We came 2nd, 723 on our travels, or 18.8% of our home gate.

We came 4th in the league of largest away followings, behind Lincoln (1,398), Mansfield (983) and Tranmere (837).

Maybe we can put this myth to bed? I’m sure every club believes they have the best away following. But there can only be one and that ain’t us.

Apart from all the other clubs around us - with large away followings - were all at the top end of the league......

Feel free to add your own....
Bunn to be sacked around Christmas time whilst we lay in a perilous position, new man sees us to safety comfortably ;leading us into another new season with unrealistic expectations. Set for repeat x20

Well, not a bad set of predictions.
Won't need much changing for 2019/20.
