Morecambe FC, Globe Arena, Christie Way, Morecambe LA4 4TB Approximately 1,400 away supporters can be accommodated mainly in the Bay Radio Terrace at one end of the ground, with around 300 seats available in the Peter McGuigan Stand A and B, which is shared with home fans. There are separate queues at the refreshment hatch for food and alcohol. Disabled persons’ facilities: Accessible parking spaces are available for away supporters (if any not required for home supporters) by application made in advance of the match-day via the Club Shop. Drop-off facilities are not available. How to get there: The stadium is s located 0.7 miles inland from Morecambe Bay. By Road: Exit the M6 at junction 34 and take the A683 following the signs for Morecambe. After around five miles you will reach a crossroads (with a McDonald’s over on the right), where you turn right onto the A589 Morecambe Road. You will then reach a roundabout (where there is a Toby Carvery), where you take the first exit into Westgate Road (signposted West Promenade, Sandylands). Continue along this road for about one mile and you will reach the stadium on your right. Car Parking: Parking at the stadium is for permit holders only, with a limited number being available for booking via the Club Shop in advance of the match-day. The club recommends visitors to use Westgate Primary School on Langridge Way LA4 4XF, less than 450 yards from the stadium with 260 spaces available. The parking money goes to the school and it ensures that local roads do not descend into chaos on match-days. Otherwise, if you continue along Westgate passing the stadium on your right, then on the other side of the railway bridge there is plenty of street parking to be had in the side roads on either side. By Train: Morecambe is served by trains from Lancaster via Bare Lane. Morecambe Station and Bare Lane stations are approximately a 25 minute walk away from the Globe Arena. As you come out of the Morecambe Station turn left down Central Drive, past Frankie and Benny's, a Morrisons superstore and a KFC outlet, and you will reach the sea front. Turn left along the promenade passing the Ranch House pub on your left and then take the 5th left into Regent Road. Proceed straight up Regent Road and continue along into Westgate. You will reach the stadium on your left, just over the railway bridge. By Taxi: There is no taxi rank or office at the train station, but there are three ranks around the town – two on the promenade and one by the Arndale Centre. By Bus: From near Morecambe train station you can get a bus number 6 or 6A, from the bus stop located opposite Frankie & Benny's or from the nearby Bus Station. This drops you right outside the stadium and takes about ten minutes. Coming back there is a bus stop outside the ground, the bus then goes into town along the sea front and then onto the railway station. It also possible to catch a bus from Lancaster to the stadium. Lancaster Bus Station is around a seven minute walk away from Lancaster Railway Station. You can either get the 6A (hourly service) straight to the ground or a number 2X to the Battery on Morecambe promenade. Ask the driver to be dropped off at the end of Regent Road on the Promenade and then this is a ten minute walk away from the Globe Arena. To get back to Lancaster after the game, it is best to retrace your steps to the promenade and catch bus number 2X. The 2X starts at the Battery so you must turn left at the promenade. The 6A does go to Lancaster from outside the ground but only hourly. Where to drink: Alcohol is served inside the stadium. Just outside the stadium entrance is a Marston's pub called the Hurley Flyer. Family friendly and offering food, it has its own car park which costs £10 before the game, but this can be refunded against a food purchase. Otherwise the closest bar that admits away supporters is on the Regent Leisure Holiday Park, which has a selection of beer, serves food snacks and has a secure parking area for £3 all day. It is situated a few minutes’ walk away from the stadium along Westgate (with the stadium entrance behind you, turn right, cross over to the other side of the road and the Regent Park entrance is down on the left). Otherwise, if you turn left out of the stadium entrance then around a ten minute walk away (located opposite a Lidl supermarket on Westgate) is the William Mitchell pub, which also shows Sky Sports. To get to the promenade, with the entrance to the stadium behind you, turn right and it is a 15 minute straight road walk. There are bars on the seafront, including Davy Jones Locker in the basement of the Clarendon Hotel. Continuing to walk along the front for about another five minutes you will reach the Ranch House pub, which offers real ale, hot pies and large screen TV showing Sky Sports. The King’s Arms is located opposite the Eric Morecambe statue. It serves food and upstairs has four pool tables, two dart boards, three large televisions and a table football game. Also on the sea front is the Station Promenade pub, which also has a Wacky Warehouse for the young children. Near to the old Christie Park ground is the York Hotel, which serves food and provides a double-decker bus to take fans to the new stadium. Alternatively, to walk takes about 10 minutes. Come out the main entrance to the hotel, turn right then immediately right again and follow the road down. When you come to a sports and social club Trimpell on your left, continue on down past some stables on your right. The alleyway brings you out right by the stadium. If arriving by train there is a Wetherspoon outlet in the town centre called the Eric Bartholomew on Euston Road. Where to eat: Plenty of food outlets are available just north of the stadium including a KFC, Tesco Metro, Subway and Frankie & Benny’s, in addition to numerous independent places which do Italian and Indian cuisine. Cheers It's only four miles so my suggestion would be get there early and jump in a taxi, be plenty to share with. Taxi will cost about £8. Be careful with regards to given yourself time to get into Morecambe from Lancaster, it's only a few miles but with the Bank Holiday traffic the later you leave the more gridlocked it's likely to become, Lancaster is a lovely City but I'd be getting yourself over to Morecambe as early as you possibly can, plenty of watering holes within walking distance of the ground.
