Maybe not but its increasingly challenging post Bosman, EPP, academy status, geographic restrictions being less onerous etc. etc.

latics22
Referring to a earlier message, mangers have to live in the moment. U would think that someone that’s cares for the club would see further than his own nose.

Probably of the opinion that the money could be better spent trying to stay in whatever division we are struggling in. Heard similar. Strange really for a guy who has spent years coaching youth teams...

Just like Latics to disband the youth team and let the likes of Williams go free to a top flight club.
oafcshuck
15th November. On the official. I thought all these FA Cup Youth games had to be played at the First Team's stadium, must have changed this season?

I had a good chat with Tony Philliskirk a few years ago, when Barry Blatter floated the idea of it [disbanding the youth] publicly via fishul..... save to say, TP had a few choice words to say about Bazza. The thing that struck a chord with me most was, TP said Baz's public forray has cost him countless days of work convincing youth players and parents to either to come to us, stay with us, believe in us and more.....! While he confessed it was increasingly difficult to find and blood successful youth players, he was always getting ManYoo / Citeh / Everton / Liverpyool..... sniffing around at least 1 or 2 of our boys every season, which meant we were doing something right. Subject to him being found innocent of his [alleged] accusation.... if ever there was an individual who could be considered a club legend for service to the club. It's Tony Philliskirk. Apparently Sunderland always play theirs away from Stadium Of Light.
