NewBlue
Watching his goal against Crewe it got me thinking how full of admiration we all are for the same bloke that I (and I’m sure many others) loathed every time we played against Huddersfield Wonder if there are any others anybody can think of who have defied their infamy when they’ve stuck on a blue shirt... Also, anybody know how many appearances he’s made for us without quoting Wiki?
Dave_Og
Only tangentially relevant but Mark Hughes the second did remarkably well to not get absolutely slaughtered in the circumstances.
Dick_Valentine
The more I think about him on loan at the bucket shakers last season the more annoyed I get.
lalalajpkalala
For a long time after his two penalties at Hillsborough in 1990/91, I hated John Sheridan.

deyres42
Don't remember loathing him, just thinking he'd be one you'd like to see in a Latics shirt one day.

The 1st half in that game was superb. Henry & David Currie. It's also the reason why Wednesday went on to buy Warhurst off us because of his 2 assists...... and look at the Away following on the top tier of the Leppings Lane End..... Lee Sinnott
Not really relevant to the point of the post, but he has been fantastic the last few weeks after looking very, very poor earlier in the campaign...

We won 1-0 with a first minute goal, which I missed. I would guess in the div 4 promotion season

This. He got slaughtered after the brain fart against Vale, a nagging doubt in my mind was worried that he may have lost his touch. Not so, he is still a feirce competitor despite his advancing years.

Can't remember him being very very poor at any stage, he came in for the Macclesfield game which we won 3-1 and we were far more organised for it, we were poor as a team at home to Carlisle, Newport and Vale and Clarke didn't have his best games but of his 23 appearances we've only been beaten 5 times and we've won 12, he's also scored in 4 of the 12 victories, no doubt about it we are better with him than without and players like Edmondson are better for having him around. leeslover
I was appalled when we were linked with Dickov what with him being such a nasty little shit, before we found out he's the nicest man in football. I get the same feeling whenever we have been linked with Keith Curle, although in his case he definitely is a dreadful turd Edited December 10, 2018 by leeslover

Great finish... if he'd done something similar at the right end at Wembley, we might have become one of Europe's elite and be playing Barcelona in the champions league tonight instead of hoping to shock bloody Rochdale in a cup that pretty much no one cares about! Was there ever an investigation into whether Sharp was an agent, sent in to destroy the foundations of the club that had been created over the previous couple of seasons?
