.....now would be the ideal time to fook off back to Dubai for a few days......

He's recruiting a football manager. It's not like he needs to physically be in Oldham to read applications. There's no actual skill assessment involved, unlike some professions.

He's only just getting around to the reading the applications? He fired Bunn on Boxing Day. One assumes he'll want to interview candidates yet, before deciding on an appointment....

Sheridan walked from Carlisle on on 4th Jan. They're seemingly appointing Pressley 11 days later.....

Martin Allen was sacked at Chesterfield the day after Bunn..... Shez was appointed 14 days later....

I accept results have largely been excellent in the intervening period.... but do you not think there appears to be a lack of urgency here...?

Perhaps but it is better to get the right candidate in slowly than rush to appoint someone who has (recently) left a club at a similar level.

I wonder if one of his star contacts has knocked him back. We don't know.

Hopefully he doesn't listen to those who want to appoint a club legend as Ritchie and Redfearn aside all our club legends have no track record in management. Those two have downsides too.

I can see what you mean but you have sort of answered your own question with the results being good and there is still 2 more weeks of transfer window to go.

TBH both the examples quoted-would you have wanted either of them?

Act in haste repent at leisure.

Perhaps the funding isn't in place yet...

Well unless they are going to do it for free.

Or pay us for the privilege...

I was under the impression managers are paid monthly with the first payment due around end of Feb if appointed today.  Not for the full term of their contract in advance. Silly me.

Do you not have to budget for it then? Sounds like something out of the Ken Anderson handbook that one...

Your inference is that we are waiting for league payments before we appoint. As you’ve been saying for two weeks regarding players.

Whilst that could be argued for player signings (and you are) it’s silly to suggest that’s the reason we haven’t appointed a manager.

Wild has bought them time with the results he has helped gain for sure.

I would still think you would need to provide the authorities with some form of proof of funding when appointing to a key position - if someone knows differently I will happily stand corrected.

Can't argue with you..... although, our resident former Premier League scout @BP1960, believes our lack of a permanent manager is a hindrance in sourcing loan replacements...... with only 2 weeks to go / we risk the most desirable loanees - in our bracket - going elsewhere...?

Proof of funding for a contract of say 12 or 18 months?  How? and what would be the validity of the proof or the point of it?  You just make stuff up.

I do agree, but I am not confident we are going to appoint a manager that the majority go wow or good choice. I can't imagine briefcase was full of outstanding managers with great track records.
