Port Vale (A)

Big performance and result after Boxing Day. Pleased for Wild.

All this talk of x amount of points of playoffs/automatic. . That was the case before the game!

Because up until recently we’d been on a great run under Frankie, he had us nicely poised. Still gutted for him.

But onwards and upwards. .. . .

Hopefully.

So what is going on?

Precisely. I'm not convinced that Wild has really had any chance to influence the playing style of the team, so either the result would have been the same had Bunn still been in charge, or Bunn somehow managed to piss off the players who put in the no-show at Carlisle.

Then again, everything I just said could be complete and utter toss.

Wonderful.

All credit to Pete Wild and the players. Absolutely none, still, to AL.

So, fellow prisoners of purgatory, does this vindicate AL's decision or was this likely to happen whoever was in charge?

The manner of the dismissal was deplorable, and one very bad performance shouldn't lead to such a trigger happy response (even Sir Joe lost 6-0 against Leeds back in the early 80s), but can't argue with the result and very much based around AL's players.

Port Vale on a very poor run, and we're even more down to the bare bones (does Lang go back to the plastics now?), but crucial and very enjoyable win.

With Surridge fully out of the picture, Lang will come good and bag plenty

Hope the players respond to him after letting down FB so badly at Carlisle.

Some players are a lot to blame in all this, as happened with previous managers

Agreed.  They owe the fans a performance too.

Everton did it after losing badly to Spurs then stuffing Burnley. It’s down to the players tomorrow to regain some pride.

And how!
