Didn’t Scholes say 10 player had been offered contract, recent press doesn’t confirm this. Admittedly, they may just have not been announced.

This was a rumour that was untrue. Contract talks Monday/Tuesday this week.

The Lemys will decide this without PW, by getting rid of the highest paid contracts, unless the player agrees to reduced terms. I would think Maouch would want to leave anyway.

Don't know about that. He was really out of form around this time..

He's been out of form on several occasions while he's been here prompting assertions that he's "finished" and "his legs have gone".

Then he's been immense again.

His leadership in the changing room and leading the team would have galvanised us and seen us over the line in my opinion. He isn’t a man who’d sulk in the corner and down tools like Davies did when he didn’t Get his own way.

Wellens was a coward shipping him out and not having the balls to deal with a senior pro!

We were under embargo so didn't have much choice...

I thought he did have a choice.....Clarkey or fat b*stard?

Nobody wanted Gerrard.

Even so, whoever farming him out allowed Wellens to bring in, we'd have stayed up if we'd kept Clarke instead.

Maybe...

I think raising the morale in the changing room would have been a tough ask for anyone last season, though.

We'd have got the extra point, probably more, that  we needed if he'd stayed.

It's rare for there to be an unprovable thing you can be so certain about...

I'm not so certain. He wasn't in the same form he's been in this season. I remember thinking at Blackpool away in particular that he's had it..

I'm more certain that if AL hadn't bought the #frenchlads in that we'd have stayed up.

Or if Corney hadn't brought AL in...
