They were awful for the the first 10 games, where they got one win. But they started turning it around October, about the same time we did. At this point in the season they were 4th, with 12 more points than we currently do and were looking unstoppable. https://www.worldfootball.net/schedule/eng-league-one-2006-2007-spieltag/31/ Here they are during the same season, sitting in 3 points off the playoffs at the start of December, in much better shape than we currently are. https://www.worldfootball.net/schedule/eng-league-one-2006-2007-spieltag/20/ So, when it gets to this point of the season and people say “Will we do a Blackpool?” The answer is no, because doing a Blackpool doesn’t exist, or at least not in the way Latics fans use it to convince themselves their a still a chance we’ll finish in the playoffs when we’re 10 points adrift in mid Feb. This. Now if someone were to have said we could do a Barnsley...

dannyboy55555
I think we will fall just short. The key for me is to maintain an upward trajectory and for Scholes to have a good look at the playing staff read for a tilt next season. My biggest worry is that he won’t last long enough to get there though.

frizzell54
Would be interesting if a play off place goes down to last match Northampton at home. How ironical that would be.

No we won't it will be 6 points as we will have played our games in hand and won them. We won't even need to beat them 8-0 to catch up the goal difference either. kowenicki
Play offs are very doable. People do know it’s 3 points for a win right? Not saying we will do it, but it’s very possible that a team even lower than we are could get in them. There are 48 points still up for grabs. Despite being pony for most of the season we’re still in with a shout. That win at the weekend was massive. As has been noted, we have 3 really winnable home games coming up which we really should be looking at 9 points from. Take that form into the Bury game and you never know. Awaits 0-1 tomorrow... singe
Remarkable that Pete's point average was 1.43 ie 65 points for the season and 1.63 would get you a play off place based on last year. He really has looked after things very well considering he lost Surridge and Lyden.

kowenicki
So us the fine stewardship down to AL or PW? Or is it only the defeats that are down to AL and the wins down to PW? I can’t keep up.
Ritchierich
We actually have a decent defence, a decent midfield and options in both areas Our problem was almost entirely upfront....fix that and we will make the playoffs....and win them
