Trust statement re Paul Scholes departure

Recommended Posts

Here is the Trust statement....

We are deeply concerned by the comments of Paul Scholes today and were not made aware of the conditions he was working under.‬

‪We will seek an urgent meeting with the owner of the club, and make a further statement when we can. ‬

‪It’s not easy, but please be patient.

We are always patient  we have to be  because nothing ever gets reported  back to us  straight away  until minutes have been checked  etc   Like  Dave og said best of luck with that  Als got a team to pick for Saturday   So he won't have time for a meeting

Like Corney, AL has no interest whatsoever in engaging with the Trust. It’s his club, not yours. And he’s never going to enter into any sort of dialogue of any substance.

Good point I’m still waiting on those minutes, not sure any will be relevant now 😂

Kowenicki will be buzzing when Branger is reinstated to the starting 11.

Honest question;

What do you expect to achieve even if he grants you a meeting, which I doubt he will?

Will he tell you why Scholes left?  Will he tell you his real plans for the club?  Will he promise never to interfere again and stick to that promise?  I don’t need to engineer a meeting to get the answers to these questions.

Fuck Lemsagam.  Here’s the questions we need answering -

1. What’s happening with the stadium purchase?

2. What’s the current debt situation of the club?

3. Subject to answering Q2, can we find focus all our efforts in finding someone to acquire the club minus Lemsagam’s crop of players and remove this cancer from the club? Surely this new Trust person who’s from this finance company knows people with deep pockets.  Even get Scholes involved to help secure an owner.

Trust Oldham - there comes a time when you simply have to "do the right thing". It's obvious to a blind man with a stick that that time is now.

You should immediately break ties with the club and become a powerful independent supporters' initiative - because boy are we going to need solidarity as fans going forward.

Your "position" on the board is worthless - as is the shareholding in all honesty. If/when the shit really hits the fan, Trust Oldham, in its present guise, will be impotent despite all the pretence over the years that Trust Oldham holds some kind of position as "potential saviour".

Send the strongest message to our owner that we have had enough of being treated like idiots. It's OUR football club and we all need to gather under one banner and prepare to fight a long war.

I`m honestly not having a go - you have an opportunity now to do something really useful - but only by severing ties with a club in serious decline. We need a strong, INDEPENDENT supporters' trust.

You should have been more interested about the conditions that ALs previous managers and employees were working under. Why so surprised now when it is Paul Scholes

Just wish the Trust had the balls to release a statement to this effect 1-2 years ago. We may have been fan owned and in charge of our own affairs by now, which surely is what the end game is currently.

Let's be truthful with ourselves as fans. There isn't going to be some moneybagged heroic local businessmen riding in to provide the capital to get us competing in the Championship. We need to mobilise with unity and start doing what we haven't done in a generation; enjoy being a supporter of Oldham Athletic Football Club. Whether that's at this level or a couple of levels down.

Exactly. Get the foundations sorted, and hopefully a bit of success to bring the feelgood factor back. A successful club will attract investment - see pompey with the Disney chap, and Swansea. Even Darlo at a lower level.

My thoughts exactly. People need to stop caring about the results, league positions, or managers. The problems are deeper than that. We need to return to being a club first and foremost and then worry about the rest.

So the Trust was unaware of unpaid gas bills, no showers or coffee machines for players and the team bus failing to turn up for the Bury game as they'd not been paid.

Do any of the Trust actually have  any contact with players or visit the stadium on non match days?

Were the trust not asked to intervene by Scholes over the coach travel to Bury...?

I sincerely hope the insinuation here is not true. If it is, then I`ve also lost all trust in the Trust.

Trust rep anywhere - answer to Lee Sinnott's question please?

There is a substantial move in that direction. I have been pushing for a degree of independence to relieve the trust of its otherwise conflicted position. There has been significant progress on that front in the last few hours with the PS situation being the event needed to trigger this change.

You can expext to see a less constrainted and more vocal trust as a result.
