Board of Directors (Non-Executive) Applications

Recommended Posts

Get the trust rep on board properly or forget it. In fact forget it anyway,  the man is a buffoon of the highest order.

This a desperate last ditch attempt to get fans back onside and boost ST sales.

The man has bullshitted his way along since the day he took over and I don’t believe a word he says.

The ‘events’ of last week could and should have been avoided. It was a massive opportunity for this club to move forward and has been completely wasted.

I don’t believe the appointment of Scholes was ever a genuine attempt to improve our fortunes and IMO it was just a PR exercise and then for AL to then put the blame on Scholes for walking out.

Im convinced now that the guy has no money and that from the very beginning  his involvement in this club was suspicious to say the least.

IMO....We have to get him out!!!

I would recommend any potential candidate to take sound legal advice on the Role they are undertaking and its legal responsibilites as per Simon Brooke above and Old Hallam

Its not to put anyone off but to ensure you know what the role is and the legal ramifications of the Board position

Even the Trust rep to the board will have Directors liability insurance in place

I believe this is true but I am unclear how it would work as would not the fan have to follow the same guidelines as all directors?

It would be a seperate role to the Trust Rep position to the board of OAFC

Has he shown any further willingness to reach out to the trust?

Oldham Athletic are looking to appoint fan representatives to join the newly formed Board of Directors.

Over the past year under new ownership the club has tried to rebuild, with millions being invested in the team whilst also paying off past debts.

Not everything has gone to plan, with issues on and off the pitch and for certain areas the club has been rightly criticised.

With a owner who has the clubs best interests at heart, the events of last week have shown that there is now a disconnect between the fans and the club and the owner wants to repair that. Without the fans there is no club.

As a result, the owner (and currently the sole director) is in the process of reforming the board and is looking to appoint people that can add value in non-executive positions, through fan representatives.

Ultimately, the board will run this football club for the benefit of the supporters to create a better future. The board makes decisions on all aspects of the running of the club including commercial, property and staffing issues.

The club would now like to invite applications from those with a genuine love for Oldham Athletic to become a director, setting out their skill set and explaining in writing what they could bring to the role.

The role will not be remunerated and there is a requirement to attend all home and away games as a representative, whilst also passing the English Football League’s fit and proper person test.

Please email applications@oldhamathletic.co.uk by Tuesday 26 March 2019 to be considered.

Too late you fuck wits :clown:

I'm getting angrier about this the more I thimk about it:

1. He has had multiple opportunities to engage with the trust as fans' reps and has not taken any of them

2. Anyone taking this role and the responsibilities tha go with it given the history would be, at best, reckless

3. The stipulation that the successful candidate must attend every game, home and away, is ridiculous.  How about just the best person for the role

4. There should be a proper board in place already.  To have been in charge for well over a year and be the sole director is laughable

and on and on and on...

Hi Abdallah,

if you want to reconnect with me can you answer the following questions first?

1. Was the gas supply at the club disconnected due to non payment of bills? If so why have the bills not been paid?

2. Did the team coach transport fail to turn up due to non pay,ent of bills? If so why have the bills not been paid?

3. Did you send emails to Paul Scholes telling him to play certain players? If so how does that fit with your stated policy of non interference?

4. Do you plan to give a two year contract to a player, Iacovitti, who has not yet played for the first team without consulting Paul Scholes?

5  Did you tear up the contract of Ousmane Fane without consulting Paul Scholes?

6. Have you offered contract renewals to players without consulting Paul Scholes?

7. Will all wages at the club be paid on time going forward?

8. Do you actually have my money to support the income shortfall at the club.

9. Do you have a sustainable plan for the club’s future?

And can I have the answers before the first renewal deadline for season tickets next week?

Thanks in advance,

Massive ‘up yours’ to the trust that. Been saying for a while the trust needs massive change of board members and ideas.

I think it is fair to say the Trust is already heading in a very different direction. It did need to.

Several examples, leading  the buy out of the ground, beginnign to take the lead on protest meetings.
Not criticising previous Trust members on here by the way. Diferent time.

Your obsession with me is flattering. Get a girlfriend or something.

....I’d have seriously considered this if it was a few years further down the line.

Yes.  Seriously.
