Andyt84
Crewe away last game of the season about 10 or 11 years ago. We won 4-1 and I think Eardley scored 2 from midfield. I think it was also Gary Macs last game for us.
bazerx
Forgotten away days - how about St Mirren away in the Anglo Scottish Cup semi-final on a Tuesday night in the late 1970s. About 20-30 of us went on a mini bus. Got to Glasgow at about 4.30pm. It was in the days of 3pm last orders in the afternoon in England so it was a novelty for us for the pub to be open at this time. We went to the game & there were so few of us the home crowd treated us as guests, which was unexpected, especially with no segregation. The first leg had finished 1-1 & this game was 0-0 at full time so it went to extra time. They scored in the first period & we thought, that's it, but a 35 yard screamer from Alan Young in the second period took the game to pens. We scored our first four, Peter McDonnell saved two of theirs, & we were through to the final (against Burnley - another story). Suddenly it wasn't as friendly any more so we retired to the bar under the stand. We set off back at about midnight & got dropped off at C&A in town at 5.15am. Happy days! Other memories of this game. Paul Heaton (about 5ft 6in) playing centre half and Vic Halom being absent from the team photo in the changing rooms afterwards. He was changed & in the bar with us about 5 minutes after the final whistle!
