Its depressing seeing that we have one pro who we have signed from a different club that has been there longer than a year 😔

and that's only because he wouldn't go!

Who signed who:

2018/19 Apperances indicated that this is the core of our squad. Worry is that midfield that was easily overrun, as well as all the other positions! No psine to that team.

Thought Zues was here next season?

Where's goal machine O'Grady? We still don't know if Missilou, Maouche and De la Paz have re-signed yet.

I thought we took up the option on Missilou.

I was about to say, don't rely on Transfermarkt data.

Then I looked into it and ended up in a bit of a rabbit hole. Apparently, despite being crowdsourced data, it's quite well-regarded for accuracy.

I emailed them and they updated O'Grady. (Cheers @Bristolatic )
Their weak link is valuations though!

Either Jonathan Benteke is on holiday, or he's signing for an Indonesian club. The local press don't seem sure.

If AL gets a fee for him, then I will doff my cap.

So glad we are able to reward a player financially who has made such an enormous contribution to our football club this last 18 months. Get your feet up Johnny bot we are going to need you to go again next year.

Sounds like he plans to go.

https://www.voetbalprimeur.be/nieuws/881317/jonge-belg-wil-transfervrij-weg-uit-engeland-zelfs-1b-schrikt-me-niet-af-.html

Rough translation:

"Jonathan Benteke, Christian's younger brother, wants to leave England. The attacker wants to return to the Belgian fields free of transfer.

Benteke's contract expires at Oldham, although the club wants to extend it. “I don't like football in the lower English classes. It is very physical, while I prefer to play from the ball. Oldham wants to keep me, but I'd rather start again in a familiar environment. Even 1B doesn't scare me. "

Benteke is already promoting himself to Het Laatste Nieuws. “I am young, Belgian and completely fit. In addition, I have experience in first class and I have a good mentality. (laughs) And I'm not expensive.” In the past he played with Crystal Palace, Omonia Nicosia and Zulte Waregem."

How deflating is that sentence.

In fairness to Benteke I'd be pretty concerned about his motivation if he wanted to stay seen as how little he has played.

Its more a reflection on the owner than the player.

Bit surprised we haven't had any word on the contracts for him, Maouche and de la Paz. You'd think there'd been enough time for decisions.

Maybe they’re waiting to see who the manager is before deciding whether or not to stay.

Yes, that's what I meant.

If he needs a lift to the ferry, I'm free at the weekend. I'll want the money for petrol, though; it's a long way from Bristol to Oldham to Hull/Felixstowe/Dover etc and back again. I'll buy the coffees.
