Squad movements, summer 2019

Benteke has gone on trial at St Truiden (STVV, in the Belgian top division).

Seems safe to say he won't be re-signing. Hope the club actually announces what's happening with the three who were 'in discussions' as I think their contracts all expire on Sunday.

And he is a decent footballer.

Out of interest, if Maouche doesn’t re-sign, would that mean;

a. He’s been offered significantly less than £4K a week this time?

b. We were never paying £4K a week for him in the first place and it was reported incorrectly in the national media?

c. We were paying £4K a week for him, but only a fraction of that actually made it to the player, as the lionshare lined the pockets of 3rd parties/agents?

Yes, those are the only three possibilities.

Maybe he just doesn't want to be here any more(if ever).

He turned up in a few games over the course of the season. Not good enough. Plenty of talent and ability he just lacked desire.

....I’m terms of money, they are.... unless you think we’ve offered him £6K this time?

Yes, those are the only four possibilities...  🙄

Maouche tore Mansfield, 2nd in the league a apart when on Sky. He was unbelievable that game.

Thats the problem he only did it a few times. The Mansfield game wasnt his standard it was his exception. If hes a regular next season then we certainly wont be challenging for promotion

I put him in the same bracket as James Dayton and Danny Whittaker (who both played for us in the league above) flashes of a good footballer but too lightweight and not consistent enough. And if hes on £4k a week hes stealing a living. Im expecting him to be motm almost every week on the that kind of money at this level.
