What's the thinking there?

Bury fans are going to support another Franchise FC? The original club weren't exactly awash with fans, and I can't see many of them getting on board..

Plus Bury get Alfreton's spot in the National League North saving them the 3 promotions they would need from the NW Counties League.

I think some Bury fans would support that team, but for them to get much further they'd need probably all of them, or their owner spending lots of cash.

Surely not?

I wouldn't if it was us.

I'd rather the 3 promotions take as long as they had to than steal another club's place in the league structure and deprive their fans....

Doomed to failure isn't it, most Bury fans won't get involved in this.

Not to mention the Alfreton fans. There may not be many of them, but the ones they have will care deeply about their club.

What will he do rename Alfreton to Bury?

I think some might. But it won't be that many and I doubt it would be the ones that are true diehard fans.

PS Don't call me Shirley. 😁
