main stand ?

Absolutely seriously. Loads of wood, bits falling off all over the place, very narrow gangways. I'm not going in there.

And for anyone over about 5'10'' spectacularly uncomfortable.

Get in Main stand upper.

Look at piece of wood called a seat before I sit down.

Wonder what I’m doing in there again

Move along to the next seat because my knees hang over the seat in front.

Wonder what i’m doing in there again

Look at view, and think ‘best place to watch the game’

stand up for somebody to pass and nearly fall over backwards due to the narrowness.

Sit down, and scrape both my knees on the metal bars of the seat in front.

Wonder what i’m doing in there again.

Go one one nil down to a shit goal and momentarily forget where I am, lean forward in despair and bang both knees on the metal bars.

Go for a brew at half time, and realise I am now a cripple.

Hobble back to my seat, and look at piece of wood called a seat.

Start to go numb in the second half, but can’t get my legs going, because if I do I’ll knee some poor fucker in the back of the head.

A golden chance to score, I’m up ready to celebrate- we miss. I sit down in a huff and hit my back on the top of the six inch patch of wood called a backrest.

We lose 1-0.

I wonder what I’m doing in there again.

Look a happy bunch don’t they?

A mean bunch I'd say!

Wouldn't fancy going for a 50/50 ball with some of that lot!

A tip for anyone new to the wonderful main stand:

Find a seat with a replacement plastic back.  Ah modern materials........
