I assume we will be able to see 'goals as they go in' during the BBC Sunday coverage?

Yes, they flit around the 8 or so games moved to Sunday afternoon, showing sporadic live footage of each, and all the big moments, with a live reporter also at each ground.

Maoche is gonna start, play well and score and become "invaluable" again. To be fair it should be a competitive game with our squad finding its level.

looking forward to it , yes should be a competitive but cant see anything else than a cup upset, next round for latics🤣

Latics have sold 714 advance tickets for Gateshead this Sunday. Pay on the day is available.

Gateshead Attendance at last home game versus Curzon Ashton was 707.

Expect them to have a few more there on Sunday - Still not sure why they didn’t give us the East stand though 🤔

Lol - reminded me of an away cup game at Barrow on a Tuesday night, from memory, some years back. The wind was absolutely ferocious. It was comical watching Eyresy take a free kick in the first half - and the ball virtually being blown back to him! That said, I think we won 1-0 via an Eyresy free kick with the wind at his back. It was absolutely bloody freezing - and around 200 Latics there that night.

It was cold think Mick Wadsworth was in charge , certainly been to Barrow with MW i/c

Was the coldest i have ever been at a match Jerry and that includes games at the Ice Station. I looked round at the Latics fans there and we looked like Captain Scott's party that tried to conquer the South Pole.... some had frostbite and moustaches frozen to their faces (even those who didn't have a moustache to begin with).

Recall being frozen solid at Hull City one Boxing Day in the late 70s and other than that, one bitingly cold night when Latics beat Barnsley 2-1 at the Ice Station are the only times I felt nearly as cold watching Latics

Does anyone remember the days when we used to treat the FA Cup with disdain/ dismay and absolutely no interest?

When we were in the (old) Second Division and joined the FA cup at the 3rd round - our cup runs were really cup walks and our only interest was who would have the dubious pleasure of being the team to administer the knockout blow to our less-than-doughty Cup heroes? We were always amazed when we won at least one cup tie a season in those days

Whilst its been dross watching Latics over the last 15-20 seasons by and large, to be fair we have had a couple of decent little cup runs, something really denied our older fans bar of course the pinch me season and the 1994 FA Cup semi

We might take more to the FA cup youth cup game at Curzon next Tuesday.

I was at that game too, can’t believe it was 18yrs ago. It was freezing, made worse by the howling wind off the Irish Sea. Still remember their PA man having a little dig at full time “thank you for your attendance and I hope you Oldham fans have a safe trip back to Manchester”.

I visited Newcastle Uni, aged 17, when deciding where I wanted to go.... as a season ticket holder at ice station zebra, cold weather was something I was familiar with. I arrived in Newcastle wearing a hat, scarf, gloves, jumper, big coat... and was met by a geordie lad showing us around, who was wearing a white T and black leather jacket, unzipped. I was freezing my tits off and asked this lad, “is it always this cold up here?”... I should add, I’d been to St. James’ Park watching Latics a couple of years earlier (we lost 3-2) and thought it was cold then too. Anyway, he answered in the broadest geordie accent, “it’s nay that cold tha’day man”.... I thought, fk this, I ain’t coming here....

Reminds me of Big Fucking Dave from very early Viz comics. "Ho'way Dave, that fellas there's wearing jacket/drinking a half/just washed his hands in the toilet." Dave became upset on perceived homophobic grounds.

That Barnsley match for me. I remember blokes huddled round hand dryers in the Chaddy at half time.

Not able to make tomorrow unfortunately. Sure there'll be a stream available given the extended highlights... It'd be appreciated if someone were able to share it on here.

Also not able to make it tomorrow as taking my kid to a party.  It'd be appreciated if someone could take my kid to the party, so I don't have to and can sit at home and watch the stream shared on here...

Cheers.

I went to Birmingham v Villa in the League Cup a few seasons ago, February I think it was. Sure it was about -5 or -6 C before kick-off. It was so cold I was standing in the bar with some mates and turned down the "extra cold" lager (🙄) and had a hot chocolate instead. The curry afterwards was a lifesaver.

I hope we go 4-4-2 tomorrow.  Keep it fairly simple.

De La Paz

Hamer

Wheater

Stott

Iacovitti

Eagles

Sylla

McCann

Smith

Wilson

Azankpo

A solid central midfield 2 with Sylla sitting in and breaking up play, allowing McCann to have a bit more freedom.  Eagles and Smith providing creativity from the flanks and the front two looking to get in behind their defence.  Hopefully that should be enough.

I would try something new. We had a problem at full backs conceding goals so why not try no full backs haha.

                            Zeus

            Egert   Wheater   Stott

  Hamer    Missiliou   McCann   Smith

                        Maouche

               Wilson         Azankpo

People would prefer sylla and eagles in there but this would be my preference

Strange how things stick in your mind... The 86/87 Bradford one was an ice rink of a pitch, Ian Ormondroyd was like a ballerina on it and we were 5-0 down at half time (we bought him on the strength of that performance I seem to remember)... Best half time announcement ever followed asking one of the Latics fans to go to one of the turnstiles with a steward as he had his brothers ticket and he'd just turned up.
