footy68
I have just returned from a few wets with the Mrs in Royton Village. In Pinchitos was one Neil Kilkenny. Now I know each to his own etc. but he appeared slightly worse for wear and making a complete Two Hats of himself. If I wasn't with the better half of my marriage I would have told him what I thought, but I would like sex tonight so thought better of it. Now on Tuesday I will be parting with the best part of £100 to go to Forest, I don't appreciate what I saw tonight. Granted I'm not his biggest fan, but I find it annoying with the club's current situation and he's out making a Threepennybit of himself. I'd send him back now. I've drank with the Man Stam and he is a model Pro, unlike the child that is Kilkenny.
R.O.A.M
I want to see JP & McDonald i dont know why but i can just see them being a right force and working there socks off for each other. I agree entirely, drop the big time charlie lording it up in Royton, not the first of last time it will be seen. JP & GM for me
wardlelatic
If the players are allowed to drink within 3 days of a match, IMO they should be doing it together while watching a video of there last few games. If KK wants to socialise with his G/f thats only fair, but I agree that he shouldn't be drinking too much before a game when obviously his energy levels are low.. KK MOM sat ????? thought the ref covered more grass than KK !! Think the lads need to dig deep now and start playing as a team rather than a team of " I's " Forest might be the first game I'll miss this season : when the players dont look bothered, why should I be bothered to beg for an half day off work, waste £50 ???? IMO - id like to see - JP - kk - Mc in midfield The "boy" Taylor needs to be left out !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RoytonBlueLad
I've asked this before but don't clubs usually have a 3 day rule in terms of drinking before a game? I'm sure we are no different. Seen quite a few of ours breaking it this season if that's the case

Gemma06
He thinks he is a lot better than he is, he walked at Arsenal because he fell out with their coaching staff - they don't take kindly to 'big time charlies' in their youth team, my friends brother was kicked out for doing that. Then he falls out with Bruce at Birmingham because he isn't getting as many games as he would like. He is a good player in league one, he could be a decent enough player for a mid-table team in the championship but i can't see him lighting up the premiership myself and i get the impression thats where he thinks he should be. I was glad when we signed him because until he signed we had no creativity in the centre of midfield and although i dont think he's playing as well as he can do i don't think he should be dropped. If he goes out drinking then fair enough as long it doesn't effect his football.
Hometownclub
If he was drinking and was worse for wear then he is showing a total lack of respect for the club and the manager, maybe if thats his attitude then the club might be best served by sending him back. How? Fair enough if it was everynight he was out and making a fool of himself or if it was the night before a match but the players need to unwind as well, some play golf and some go out for a few drinks

Fair enough if it was everynight he was out and making a fool of himself or if it was the night before a match but the players need to unwind as well, some play golf and some go out for a few drinks After a dire performance from himself on Saturday and with another very important game on Tuesday, I dont think his being seen drunk in Royton is the best way to show his comitment to the club and the manager and it sets a bad example to the younger up and coming players at the club. He needs to knuckle down and start producing the goods on the field as he was obvoiusly brought in at great expense and has thus far proved very disappointing indeed, at present the money the club are spending on him could be much better spent elsewhere IMO. slurms mckenzie
I bumped into Kilkenny on Saturday night in Royton and he was devastated with the result. I've seen him a couple of times in Royton since he came back, and I've never seen him drink anything other than soft drinks. Don't blame him for wanting to forget the events of that day. Alec1954
He wasn't with his Girlfriend. I haven't 'aired' this before....but I am being told by a range of fans that the club has a possible drinking culture. Without naming names, players have been seen out cold through booze on Yorkshire Street. Also, this has been confirmed by relatives of players. If it is true then it need sorting quick. But it does explain a bit the dip in form for some of the players!

Granted he may have been a bit stupid there but he definately respects the club and the manager, he was one of only 3 regular first team players that wasn't playing, that i saw, to turn up to the reserve match on Wednesday, Eardley and Taylor being the other two. If he didn't respect the club then surely he wouldn't have turned up to it. The players aren't made to turn up to youth and reserve matches and the fact he's only on loan and bothers to show up to matches like this surely shows that he holds something for the club. mastap
This isnt just a recent thing. The players have enjoyed yorkshire street for years. Infact it was a regular staurday night occurance for the likes of matthew tipton, will haining, jamie campbell, and several other of the then young players to be caught getting slaughtered around oldham most weekends!!! 24hoursfromtulsehill
Is it possible to not be so puritanical about players enjoying one too many drinks? Some fatherly, Catholic advice to all: never begrudge a man his vices.
footy68
I don't mind anybody their vices whatever they may be. As for a professional sportsman, there is a time and a place.

boundaryblue80
I will simply copy and post what I wrote on ISZ yesterday, with regards to another players apparent recently poor behaviour and "not give a damn about the club" attitude.... "It's funny how things turn up when all is not right....oh well....tune in for the next edition.... Neal Eardley ate my cat!"

"It's funny how things turn up when all is not right....oh well....tune in for the next edition.... Neal Eardley ate my cat!" I totally agree. After the Swansea game, in which, IIRC, KK was injured, someone posted that they had seen him out in Royton. Then he was a top man and one of the lads (even though he wasn't on the pop, by all accounts). I'm sure that when we start climbing the table, people who see the players out won't be carping too much about their behaviour.
