Serious HARD questions now to be asked of the 3As

Recommended Posts

Wouldn't it be ironic if the three A's were to sell for short term gain rather than invest for the future of the club. After all the support they have received from the fans of the club. It has always been a slight niggle at the back of my mind that we didn't really KNOW what the plans of the owners were actually. I don't for one minute think they will disappear into the sunset with their bags of cash tied to their saddles but the socialist in me is always suspicious of Capitalists, particularly Property Developers........... Just hope I have to eat my words in two years time when our club is on a sound financial footing with a healthy future. This is what we mean when we say Keep the Faith I suppose...

That's exactly what we mean!

To be fair I find it hard to belive any of us dont have at least a slight niggle in the back of are minds. We are all just trusting and hoping the 3As are good there word. Whats a posative and allowing me to sleep at night is that we do have ever reason to belive that they are going to be true to there word as they have been good to there word so far.

We were once a club struggling but always had the back up of really valueable land to bail us out of the :censored:. Once this development is complete we will hopefully be a thriving club with some amount valueable land. Worse case is like you say, they sell the majority off, we are left with just the stadium, no hotel, no conference facilities, no gym, no offices and just four stands and no land. Thats why i want to see the PLAN laid out. So there is no confusion or worry.

they have said they will give this town a stadium and facilities it deserves,to regenerate the area.

i think in all honesty the money we will get as our income will come from the hotel and conferencing, the gym and office space as has been said.

depending on what rates are set will decide our level of income.

the land with planning permission is now a cash cow for tta's,and lets not get all dewy eyed and blue coloured specatacled, they have pumped a hell of a lot of cash into our club already, and want it back.

i dont think for one moment they are in this to make massive profits, that simply wont happen, all they are doing is realising the potential in the ground to get there money back.

the fans will be happy as they get a newly developed stadium, and the tta's go down in history.

i doubt very much the council and residents will be happy with the way they do it.

but at the end of the day if it prolongs the life of oafc for a good few years then hey...thats fine by me.

I raised the questions and speculations of this thread with Alan Hardy. He replied as follows:

I have seen the threads on OWTB but to be honest we have not got that far yet.

With the hotel for instance talks have been on various proposals like sale, rent or percentage of profit, but no decision has been taken as to what will be the best long term option for the club as yet.

There is a lot of work still to be done to secure long term income for the club so I am sorry that I can not be more precise at this moment in time, I wish I could.

Regards

Alan

So we'll have to wait until the intentions of TTA are clarified regarding the "best long term option for the club" and "to secure long term income for the club".

Note: That's OUR Club and not the best options for TTA! :applause1:

I'm sure Alan Hardy said on the OS that the land would now be sold to the resedential developers, to finance the new stand and the rerst of the development. If the land wasn't sold, how would TTA get the cash to build everything else?

I haven't read all of the comments above, but I am concerned that the club officials, not the owners, may well not have the financial knowledge to see a meat pie when it is a pudding. Our CE has risen from the ranks and that worries me. Wish we had a good financial brain on the board. But at the end of the day, we were dead when TTA bought us and they have been nothing but true to their word.

Alec, Alan may have risen through the ranks, but if he hadn't been capable of learning an awful lot along the way he wouldn't be Chief Exec now. I think you're being overly harsh.

Besides, it is TTA who are calling the shots when it comes to financial strategy, and I have NO qualms about their financial brains. As Chief Exec, it is Alan's job to implement that strategy, not create it.
