Lags
OS mentions we have a pair from Fulham on trial today in Hudson-odi and Goncalves. Also in the list it names Diaz and Esdaille, yet says nowt about the pair, so I gather these are Waddies South American contact agents pair. I tell you Wadsworth as made well over one million quid in pay off's from having his contracts terminated never mind fee's and pay whilst in a job! It's a good job if you can get it aint it? Gregan plays also.
jonnyl@tic
Lino Goncalves arrives on trial.. Lino Goncalves (born Nov. 21, 1988 in Madeira Funchal) is a midfielder for Fulham fc. He has also represented Portugal at u17, u18, and u19. He grew up in Victoria-Pimlico on South West London's Churchill Gardens Estate. From a young age you could see Lino's talent, he first started playing football for the local youth club St Andrews FC based in Victoria but was quickly spotted by Fulham FC and went on to join the academy ranks at the Premiership club. Having been born only 5 miles away from where fellow countryman Christiano Ronaldo was raised, the young winger has drawn many similarities with the Manchester United FC player with his abundance of skill pace and surging runs catching the admiring glances of many clubs both in England and his native Portugal. However Lino signed a Scholarship at Fulham FC and in the 2006/07 season was a regular for the reserves and U18's side. His strong performances at reserve level were rewarded with a promotion to train with the first team squad for the start of the 2007/08 season. Comfortable on the left or right wing, Lino is also a specialist at set pieces and dead ball situations and recently received plaudits for his role in Fulham's 2-1 U18 win over Chelsea. Lino has recently mutally ended his contract with the club, due to insuficent first team opportunities. He is being chased by Newcastle United along with other european teams. Goncalves has been linked with a move to Sporting Lisbon.
Senor_Coconut
You can count on one hand the amount of players we sign after being on trial. Apart from that I wish them all the best.

Think it's a good time to be having a look at some trialists , since we could not even fill the bench on Saturday coupled with six games in April for the stiff's we could do with the extra bod's just get a team out. Frankly Mr Shankly
If this Goncalves fella is as good as his write up suggests, I wonder why Fulham are letting him leave? I like the line "the young winger has drawn many similarities with the Manchester United FC player [That'll be Ronaldo then]". Is one of them that they both have heads? Midsblue
Dave Odoi , dont know him Looks like we're using a new agency for trialists but by sounds of it, both of these Fulham players have been farmed out to other clubs recently including Crystal Palace (who rejected both). FN Sports Ha Ha Ha I wonder what the FN stands for in FN Sports? Effin Nora? or "So, you have had time to look at my players in a trialist scenario, are you going to take them on?......" You can make the rest up yourself

Gaz_Oafc
They have both played with mark crossley for fulham reserves, so he may have reccomended them to shez!
Guest M_OAFC
According to the Chron that Portugese winger is left sided as well and we all know we need one of those, whilst the info somebody found on the striker from Ghana earlier in this thread said he was big which doesn't necessarily mean he plays like a target man but it keeps that possibility alive and again, we all know that is a role we need to fill. Also that centre back from Covenry Liam Francis is in the squad again and I'm told he has pace which if we do need another centre back is probably one of the main attributes we are missing in that position. Of course none of that counts for anything if they all turn out to be (by all accounts Francis was exactly that at Forest) but at least we are trialing players of a type we might need, unlike the last reserve game I went to when we had a right back on trial. Other names in the reserve squad that appear to be trialists (either that or they are under 16s as they aren't names I recognise as apprentices) are Hildreth, Diaz, Russell, Esdaille and the brilliantly named Jesus who I understand is excellent at getting on the end of crosses. Anyone know anything about these 5?

Diego_Sideburns
Just got back from the Hawthorns. Goncalves - small, slight and lightweight - had a few good touches, but easily knocked off the ball - the supposed Ronaldo likeness must have been the bit when he was looking for free kicks. Hudson-Odoi - bulky but not tall (like a smaller Darren Beckford) - worked hard against good defenders and showed a couple of flashes of skill, one when he brought the ball down, turned the defender and hit a great shot, which the keeper saved brilliantly. Jesus - we were right not to expect any miracles from him. Liam Francis - played in centre of defence with Gregan - better than against Forest, but at fault for two of the goals - still not lived up to that 'legend' tag given to him by some OWTB members. Gregan showed all that is good and bad in his game - his supporters and detractors could have used today's game to prove all their points. Best player - Paul Black. Ashley Kelly took his goal well and for a brief spell late in the game he played better than I've ever seen him play - needs to put that sort of effort in more often. Overall it was a much better performance and the lads deserved a draw, which they almost got several times at 1-2. The third Albion goal came with the last kick of the game - 3-1 was hard on the lads. An Albion fan told me Black's dad was sat with Big Ron - maybe Ron letting it be seen that he's happy to sit with a Black. One of our unused subs looked like a younger version of Calvin Zola. An Albion fan told me Black's dad was sat with Big Ron - maybe Ron letting it be seen that he's happy to sit with a Black. One of our unused subs looked like a younger version of Calvin Zola. Goncalves, I'd agree with this assessment. Although he did a couple of good runs, a couple of decent crosses and made a chance for himself to shoot which the keeper parried behind for a corner. Very little weight and the glimpses were just that glimpses. Fell over to easy also. I'd look at him again only to gauge whether with additional fitness he could improve. Francis, I didnt think he did too bad apart from some positional errors, wont make it I dont think. Hudson-Odi, only managed to do owt for me from mid second half to the end. In this period he managed to fire two shots in. This though when I felf Latics had gained the upper hand. Prior to that he didn't hold the ball up at all. I wouldnt say he's big! not good enough I dont think. Jesus (presume he played number 4) I felt he did enough to have another look. Not in a stand out kinda way but he did want the ball, usually worked it on and got his foot in ocasionally. Again another look to guage if fitness might improve him. Diaz (presume he played 10) He's got some ability whether you'd waste time seein if you could draw it out I doubt. Also fell to easy. Deserved a draw for the second half performance. Ian Taylor was also in attendance though not with Big Ron. His tan looked more orange than normal if thats possible.
