Can someone clear up the carlotti v carbrini thing for me, i'm not in the know with these brands!

Are they rival brands i.e nike v adidas?

Yes. Whereas Nike V Adidas is typically compared to something like say, Man United V Liverpool, C v's C is something like Hyde v's Ashton.

As kit manufacturers and sponsors, the arrangement will see one of JD's exclusive youth fashion brands, Carbrini Sportswear emblazoned across all home, away and replica tops and shorts.

Is that what your hinting at johnny?

Carlotti is owned by Topgrade Sports who were purchased by a company called John David Sports.

JD Sports Fashion PLC, formerly The John David Group PLC, is engaged in the retail of sports and leisure wear. The Company manages its business activities through two Divisions: Sport and Fashion. It is a specialised multiple retailer of fashionable branded and own brand sports and casual wear, principally through the growth of its main retail fascia, JD Sports. At February 2, 2008, the Company had a total of 400 stores. In December 2007, the Company acquired a 49% interest in Focus Brands Limited. On December 7, 2007, the Company acquired Bank Stores Holdings Limited, and increased the Fashion Fascias store base with the addition of 49 Bank Fashion stores. On November 7, 2007, it acquired a 51% interest in Topgrade Sportswear Limited.

JD has bought Top Grade Sports, which owns the Carlotti brand and has its own etail site, to run the clearance operation.

i'm very sure such details arn't made public.

We usually get some indication of the value. Also, can someone confirm that we get the money from Hillstone's on top of this new deal. I wonder how much all that comes to? Could be a nice bit of business.

This must have been in pipeline for ages after the rumblings of Hillstone and the pinch in the construction industry. How long has the new batch of away kit and merchandise been "on order" at the club shop?

The delay was to allow Hillstone to be replaced by Cabrini but what about Carbrini replacing Carlotti? Both brands are owned by JD Sports so perhaps Carlotti will remain for the home and third kits but Cabrini on the Away. Carbrini could then replace Carlotti for the new home and away kits in Season 2009/10.

It'll be unfair if the home kit is totally rebranded with manufacturer and sponsor because kids will want the new one and being a parent, I've already forked out for kits for my little one so that she's a beacon shining out from the likes of Villa, Blues, Wolves, Coventry, Derby....and on...and on......

Hopefully a further announcement from Alan will dispel any concerns?!
