I'm sure that's wrong and Citeh are excluded until the next round.

Having thought about it, WBA would be good for obvious reasons.

Wouldn't it just. Except they're not in it until the 3rd round.

Bolton for me. I think we could do them with Megson in charge.

I think City are in it.

As far as i am aware it is only teams that automatically qualify for europe (ie league and cup placings) that are exempt.

City only went in thru fair play so they should be in draw ?

City to enter Carling Cup in round two

The Football League have announced that City will enter this season’s Carling Cup in the second round of the competition.

The second round is scheduled to be played on either the 26th or 27th August, but as yet we are awaiting confirmation of when our Carling Cup tie will take place, due to City’s UEFA Cup second leg game away to FC Midtjylland in Denmark on Thursday, August 28th.

Eight clubs are allowed byes into the third round of the Carling Cup due to involvement in European competition. However, nine English clubs are playing in Europe, and Aston Villa’s higher league finish, rather than City’s entry via the Fair Play League, sees them miss round two of the Carling Cup.

We will bring confirmation of the kick off times

Palace away would suit me nicely for obvious reasons, plus it would be very nice to end the drought at Selhurst Park and give Colin 90 minutes of abuse Respect. More to the point, when would the match be played? Might be barbecue at mine on the way!

Edit, well done 8city.

This probably means that Citys game will be channeled surely.

Because of the quite frankly terrible early season fixture list for us south-west exiles... i'm sure you would all agree that a Southern based team would be a fair draw....

Bristol City away please! ... but would quite fancy a trip to West Brom.... Reading would also be fun, and a new stadium....
