    Looked good going forward?

Not sure I would class a good run by branger and one by Fage as an enjoyable 2nd half.

We were a dull lifeless team, Mouche was not interested and is never captain material in a million years.

That was our first team and we were outplayed by Halifax.😥

Looking at the collective, there is no team cohesiveness, a lack of leadership and a lack of desire to win.

I feel for the likes of Hamer and Stott, who are young lads playing for their local club and will have a desire to play for their club.

Stott is vocal and shows more than our captain in trying to lead but needs an older head alongside him to assist him.

I think Mills probably thinks what the hell type of club have I joined and that he would probably have been better at Morecambe.

We have to hope something clicks in that team and they play fo each other, otherwise it is going to be a bloody long and painful season.

Yes we was first half.. very poor , lacked a cutting edge ,and we deserved to be 1-0 down, we all know we  need a center back. If you read my comment I was highlighting that I liked Fage looks like he has pace and i think he looks good going forward . The real test comes on saturday..

    Clueless

I have no idea what Banide is trying to do, unfortunately neither do the players.

That first 10 minutes by Iacovitti was as bad a performance I have ever seen by any player ever.

(I’ll exclude Branger and Fage... they looked pretty decent when they came on)

I do agree looked better 2nd half Branger and Fage looked very lively ..he is going to cause teams problems this season .. not all negative enjoyed the 2nd half we looked good going forward abit of pace about us.. let's get a center back in who I would play alongside stott..

Some people didnt like Iversen and didnt rate him, yet hes represented Denmark u21s in the summer Euros, and is now spending the season playing for a Championship club. I tend to think most Latics fans opinions on Keepers is irrelevant, especially seen as their judgement is based purely on whether a keeper comes to collect crosses or not.

Our opinions on all topics to do with our beloved oldham is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things... it's called opinions which we all have and all entitled to ..

A solid opinion based on two games is an over reaction.

My opinion is that gary woods is going to cost us alot of goals this season.. and going of Al's recruitment policy he is another one of his cheap options.. could of done better with at least 1 of the goals he conceded against rochdale and he was all over the place against stockport..

Woods was decent against Dale and had a bad game on Saturday. It happens. He was let down by other team members on Saturday too. Notably Iacovetti and Stott who kept losing their men at set pieces and were out of position on a regular basis.

Bit of an over reaction from some.

It's not his ball handling skills are poor, even in the dale game the ball doesn't stick with him.. you also get a good indication through watching him in warm ups on what type of keeper he is   so no far from an over reaction..

We all want to get behind the lads, but they need to show us they deserve our faith.

The reality is some of these signings aren't up to it.

Yes well and truly behind the team , cant wait for the season to start but a little sceptical as to how its going to go but us being the latic are guaranteed to have nothing more than a rollercoaster ride

Out of scores of  goalkeepers available, who chose these two?

No idea... if I was in the centre of defense in front of woods it would effect confidence.. Woods dropped a straight forward ball from a 1st half corner, and I heard someone say give him benefit of the doubt as the ball is wet.. My coaches would rollock me for dropped  balls in the danger areas disregards of weather condition.. I've no idea what the scouting policy is on keepers at the club , what are they looking for with modern game keepers, surely it would be in all major attributes. We are in for a long hard season if our two are the best we could get...

Friendly or not , watching that lot today was depressing.

We will have a fight to finish higher than last season.

Woods in nets will cost us 6/7 goals this season.

Good shot stopper but disaster off his line.

We need at least one old guard CH and have serious doubts about both fullbacks.

Midfield maybe just passable on a good day !!!

Upfront - Absolutely nothing to even trouble a primary school team.

Something has to change and quickly , problem is I don't see that happening.

Woods handling is poor on high balls and low down.. I think over 45 ish game will be higher than 6/7 goals given away plus he tend to parry shots away rather than go to catch them...I used to get roasted when playing for not getting my 2 hands behind the ball.. And if you come for across make sure you win the ball,  he will because nightmare to play in front of plus he doesn't seem tall (I might be wrong)

He's ambitious, getting us prepared for life in the Championship......although we may be taking a circuitous journey via the Conference North as that is about our current squad standard

I hear so many times , dont read to much into friendly games,  but you get a bloody good indication as to what's in store for the new season and I believe its going to be a long hard season unless we add abit of muscle and leadership to this team

It IS the first choice back four, along with the keeper they are playing like strangers and look constantly under pressure, Mills been poor, Lacovitti seems disinterested, keepers got poor hands and the distribution from the back is shocking, to be fair Sefil has been the pick of the defence and looks like he's shifted some timber.

Very poor so far, not had a shot I don't think and Stockport are the much better team.

Yes our keepers handling skills are shocking...Its a really poor show throughout the team today. Not playing like a team just individuals who.

Is Hamer a RB or CB ?

Surely Mills should start but I don’t know if Hamer is good enough for CB personally. Especially with no experience next to him. Plus it makes his dangerous long throws not as easy

Saw hamer at Ashton United.. surely he is a full back and not Center back ? We are really looking Ill prepared for the coming season, square pegs in round holes comes to mind here

Nope, you don't need to do that, just like you don't need to take offence at me also having an opinion.

Not at all .. That's what's great about our beautiful game,,the freedom to Express our opinions, because we fans are In kept in the dark by our club... so no roll on new season!

FFS. The lad does something positive.

He's probably happy to be at Latics and some people just have to put a negative spin on it.

    Why do you even bother??

I hope he sets the place alight.

    Not literally, of course.

Maybe I should of run my opinion by you first before posting, yes its lovely to see and I'm just sceptical of Abdullah's signings to be honest from the dross he has brought in up to now it will be interesting to see how our new player fairs , and yes I will be supporting him and the full team come FGR and beyond as I have done since I was a boy..

From what I saw he can certainly play. Stood in the no.10 role. My concern would be that he would be another Maouche, not really up for it.

Looked comfortable with the ball at his feet , always wanted the ball..time will tell what will come of him on a cold and windy night in div 2
