    He’s drunk.... I hope.

No not all .. Warnocks football style was crap but the man whatever we think of his time at Oldham has been a winner and knows how to get teams promoted.. there are still managers out there who can do the same it's a shame we haven't shown abit of ambition and employed them ...

Big Joe was that good he’d already won promotion before taking his first job in management ? Don’t just make shit up we’ve got Shucks for that

Well either way he  had a promotion under his belt so how could I have made a promotion up? We employed 3 managers who were winners successful.. All we seem to be doing ia repeating the same pricesses of hiring managers who  haven't tasted success in their roles as managers ... that's what my point is.

You quoted what he won. The league. 1 defeat all season. 70 goals.

Shocking record based on what ....

Hes averaged just over a point a game in a clubs hes managed.. brings that into league 2 management and its relegation form...very under whelming.

'His recent record isn't very good'

He won the league in 2016-2017 losing once all season. He knows how to win.

    1. Al Kuwait 28 21 6 1 70 17 +53 69

His record is shocking ... what has he won ? One of Abdullah's cheap options and no doubt a yes man...interesting season ahead...

  5. Bit deflated about the Exeter game after spending 10 hours travelling there and back  , watching the 2nd half you wouldn't have thought we had a chance of making the  playoffs.. complete different team came out for the last 45mins... To me they looked as if they were playing for a point.. and the subs I was completely baffled by why Pete Wild waited so long to make them... anyway what do I know im just a supporter ?

Was never his biggest fan but he wore blue during a difficult first half of 88/89 probably his stand out performances were home and away v Everton in the Littlewoods Cup, he was superb in the replay but sadly Tony Cottee’s late brace did for us. Was better when we signed Andy Holden to play alongside but was eventually packed off to Walsall with John Kelly in the late summer of ‘89 after Joe moved Barrett inside and gambled on youngster Henry alongside Milligan. Not sure how that one turned out...

Anyhow I digress, 61 is no age very sad news. RIP Skip 😢

Hi yes same here.. I wasn't blown away with him or John Kelly .. very forgettable

Hi I'm a new member on here yet been following latics since I was a boy and  I'm 42 now...  Ive been to many memorable games over the years but the one that stands out to me was the Everton game away in the rumbelows cup ?? We got beat 2-1 Neil Adam scored a free kick for Everton.. I remember Andy Gorton having a blinder for us..But the one thing that stands out for me was the noise in the away end ..Coming up the steps and hearing the Oldham fanss loud as f@@k stamping their feet on the wooden floor the stand shaking  ! Still gives me goose bumps today !!
