  1. Result irrelevant, performance irrelevant, give the youth team a day out
  2. Still don't believe we are remotely approaching a sale, either. That's not the wording of somebody working with a potential buyer.
  3. I half expected them to lay into the fans for the pitch invasion, so there's a tiny positive there that they realised that would be the worst thing to say right now. The announcement that we will have the same budget is a death knell. Having to build an entire new squad on the peanuts we are paying will see us in a relegation fight next season. We're up against settled teams with bigger budgets and decent players and managers for that division. A bargain basement squad with one half-striker is going straight down. To be honest, I'd rather spare Shez the ignominy. Let him ride off into the sunset in Spain.
  4. Wrexham are miles above us budgetwise. The likes of Paul Mullin, Ollie Palmer, Ben Tozer are going to be on more than £800pw. If they don't go up this season, the owners will splash the cash next season - no way we are competing with them financially. Notts County signed Matt Palmer on a two year contract recently. Again, hard to believe they are paying peanuts like we are, and they're averaging nearly 7,000 on their gate. Halifax are only getting 2,000 even though they're having an excellent season, and don't have a big backer. In an ideal world I expect we will have a bigger budget than them, but I'm not sure we'll spend it better than them.
  5. Can't argue with most of that. Iacovitti will be a fixture of our worst-ever XI for a very long time. As limited as they are, I am not convinced that as a team they really gave it all this season. Too many spells (even entire matches) with no pressing, half-hearted tackling, no urgency, no needle, no shithousery, no aggression - particularly mid-season. We lost to too many teams who also had technically limited players but who just seemed to want it more. It felt a lot like the Wellens relegation season in that respect, when we coasted to draws when a win was needed. Although things improved under Shez, I just don't feel like we went down fighting, and that's one of the worst things about it.
  6. Our last LBs have been Barnett, Jameson, Badan, CBJ, Iacovitti and Andy Taylor. Whatever faults he has, Hart has been better than any of them. Given the quality of opposing left backs I've seen this season, I'd be surprised if he's not starting somewhere in League Two next season.
  7. Just when you think they can't stoop lower: https://mobile.twitter.com/kieranmcandrew/status/1517916215209242629
  8. Blocking the windows and fire doors so that nobody can watch.
  9. Even if they restart this and we were to win, the EFL will dock us enough points to send us down to make an example of us. It's over.
  10. Would never be replayed. EFL will just award the win to Salford.
  11. Sorry we don't meet your exacting standards. Maybe watch the match yourself in future.
  12. Jesus fucking Christ, on a forum where people think Diarra should be a striker and Bahamboula should be judged on how many headers he wins, I'll discuss football however I want. Thanks.
  13. Nicky Adams hasn't taken a penalty in normal time in the last fifteen years of his career and has missed one in a shootout for us, but of course he is now first choice penalty take amongst Latics fans for reasons.
  14. We won when we had an attacking threat Now we don't, and we're losing Our only attacking plan is hoping Keillor-Dunn smacks it in from 20m away You can't play 95% of the season without a striker on the pitch and expect anything else
  15. What we need to bring on more than anything is a striker. We haven't got one. Vaughan and Bahamboula could put in another twenty through balls before the end of the match, but Hope will be twenty yards away from any of them.
  16. Never mind wins, even goals look unlikely. We have had not threat at all today. Is Hope even on the pitch any more?
  17. Can't think of a season with a worse penalty conversion rate
  18. We definitely look better for having Obadeyi in the team, he's linking up with Fage well. Whelan is having another poor match, wasting the ball too much and putting us under pressure.
