  1. Wonder whether the treatment they get off the EFL will be closer to what Bolton got, or what Bury got. It feels to me a bit like they're fairly sure they can pick up enough points in their last few games to avoid the drop, and avoid an admin penalty next season
  2. Barrow looking good to get back in the league for the first time since 1972. Connor Brown and Jason Taylor playing there these days.
  3. Sorry, I meant a big money offer coming in for Burnley for him. We won't get anything.
  4. Last season at Burnley for him? Should be money coming in for him this summer
  5. LOL At least there's a manager I wouldn't swap Maamria for.
  6. Come on, we're talking about the Northern Premier League Division One North West. Wheater would look like Beckenbauer at that level. Maamria experimented throwing the kids in early on in his spell. It really didn't work. You can show all the pride and passion you like, but it won't go far if you get battered out of the match by L2 journeymen after ten minutes. Even Dino could see that and abandoned the experiment.
  7. And Wild gets the win. Chesterfield will be playing Curzon next Boxing Day at this rate
  8. Halifax are still doing better than most expected at the start of the season given their budget and squad. Chesterfield on the other hand... I'm amazed Shez is still there. If they go down to the Conf North with that wage bill, it could go tits up very quickly indeed.
  9. Tarky wouldn't be a £50m England international if he'd stayed with us. JCH wasn't worth £2m after he'd scored 7 in 45 for us. It's natural for good young players to move on early in their careers. You only get the really big money if you're the last stage in the development process, and you're not going to be that in League Two (or League One).
  10. Lost a bit of his pace. Crippled by a calf injury. Probably still faster than Morais. Sign him up!
  11. Nice finish from Jake Cassidy yesterday for Maidenhead
  12. Thought he was a bit unlucky with us. Never seemed to get a decent run of starts to get in top form, but he seemed to have a bit of striker's instinct lacking in others.
  13. Pretty desperate at the top of that league, only Halifax out of that lot I'd like to see in the league. Wheels have fallen off the wagons a bit at AFC Fylde and Harrogate.
  14. I'd still swap him for Maouche, and I don't think Maouche is half as bad as some here make out.
  15. I'm saying that taking it out on the players makes the club fail faster. If a few players get a bit pissy, we lose more matches. Those players are what we've got at the moment, and none of the rest of us can get us points in the league. I think there are better ways to get the owner's attention.
  16. The question is, does it achieve anything or just make things worse? In another few weeks, if we're playing crap nervous football all the time, if the home performances seem really cagey, if the players don't seem to go the extra mile for the fans - maybe it'll be time to think back and think that behaviour from the fans part of the problem? Like everyone points out, it's a revolving door at Oldham (and most clubs at this level), and the players don't have any connection to the club other than their wage. Do you think they're going to get any love or pride for the club when they're getting that sort of abuse from the start, week in week out? Putting frustrations with the owners on the players doesn't help anyone. If you're so concerned about the fact you've paid for the ticket, why act in a way that makes it more likely you'll pay to see even more bad performances?
  17. Great way to recruit new talent. Word gets round about what the atmosphere at clubs is like. Decent players with choices will look elsewhere.
  18. Five matches, twelve years ago and yet somebody mentions his name here every week. It's like the mate who every time they have a pint and a half tells you the same story about the girl they pulled in a club when they were 17. So many more fish in the sea. I'd rather see Lang back.
  19. How many threads are we having the same argument over now?
  20. He's at a championship club. And we got bloody lucky getting Iversen. Still think Woods looks decent for the level on the basis of what I've seen. There are much bigger problems elsewhere.
