He was the GP for a guy I work with.  Apparently, (excluding the mass murder bit) he was a decent bloke.

My best mate from school's mum used to serve Peter Sutcliffe in a cafe on one of his truck stops.  He was quite amiable too apparently, I think most serial killers are when they aren't killing people

Its nostalgia It's got special memories for people. I'm sure we've all cheered a goal in at the chaddy which we remember fondly. I remember when I started going my Dad sat me on a barrier and we watched the game it's that type of thing that got into Latics.

yeah I get that but let’s face it it’s a shed, I did sit there in the Moore years and a few seasons afterward

as a kid I knelt on the bar by the advertising boards in the Rochdale Road End paddock - I wouldn’t want to do so now

If we are winning playing ugly - do you care?

I think we have started winning because he’s playing basic football in a basic set up and relying on our quality players- but again -if he’s winning, who cares??

Following his comments last week, It will be fascinating to see what his ‘pretty football’ looks like once we’re out of danger. Because I don’t think he’s good enough tactically to implement anything other than basic football- his record with us demonstrates that.

Id like him to stick to his winning formula and just win games.

of all his comments, the geek in me is looking forward to a new pitch next season

Be interesting if we decide to do that, the Chaddy end still holds a special place in alot of Latics fans hearts but the atmosphere created by the Athleticos in the central section of the Rocky is far greater to anything we had in the chaddy back in the day.

it also has a load of pillars restricting view, can never understand the love in for the Chaddy

He's probably not as his head seemed to have gone towards the end of last season (bit like J Clarke this season) but we aren't creating anything so we need someone who can deliver from out wide. Be that Stobbs, Couto or someone else.

At the moment we have little threat from wide and don't seem to have the right link up to create through the middle. We're playing 442 without anyone who is an out and out winger.

Tollet can't play wide right, Chapman won't provide much for Nutall etc, Rooney isn't a winger. Given our weakness on the right not sure why he has been dismissed so readily. We got this massive squad, why not use it?

I'll just add this to show they didn't all end up in the Chaddy End.

    One game - nice one

got “highlights” of his other 39 appearances by any chance?

Whereabouts in the Main Stand? I sit in Blue Block MSU and, apart from some numpty who shouts “Unsworth Resign!” every so often, all you can hear is the clicking of ill-fitting false teeth and replacement hip joints 😳

has the “get it forward” bloke given up?

and the deer stalker hat wearing racist in the paddock who shouted some particularly vile things at Craig Davies when he played for Wolves against us

To bring in over 50% of your outfield players is very difficult to then get that to bed in. A good team beats a good group of individuals. Luckily we have individuals who are better than the dross near the bottom of the league. The team element will come next season no doubt.

Shez signed all the players he had at the start of the season. He had a pre season with them. He had time to look at players in training/friendlies.

He went all in for Hogan, Gardner and Porter. I'd argue all 3 are flops but certainly 2 are. As latics fans we all suspected Porter and Gardner wouldn't feature and it's been the case. Shez's decisions in the summer will have an impact all season. Gardner and Porter will be a good chunk of the budget meaning we've had Maynard et al embarrassing the club.

Stobbs, Windass, Maynard, Angol, Leutwiler, Gardner and Porter. Thanks John.

Leutwiler was signed by Curle and was under contract

the others I’ll give you (though Stobbs was also Curle but Shez decided to give him an extension)

His contract is up in June so just 4 months left…someone said on here McGahey is contracted here until the end of the 2024 season but according to the official his contract is also up in June!

yeah they were both part of the Mohammed balls up when it came to our terms of the Covid loan we took out

    both should expire this summer

Didn't Twatter usually have a kind of 'live feed' on the youth team matches? I imagine youth team match reports will take just as long as a first team report to reach the official site. I'm not one for keeping up with their games but I miss the old reserve team games at a cold, sparsely populated BP. :D

One criticism I do have of the club is they now prioritise Twitter and sometimes don’t post to the website at all - the recent pitch inspection being an example

not everyone is on that toxic platform

If it had gone through earlier our managers would have still be Sheridan and Unsworth (if shez went).
