  1. I don't think he thinks that per se. I think he might've hoped Abdallah's interview, the interview from Barry and one from Paul Murray, coupled with the kit and badge fan engagement he tried, to have had some positive effect. This is where I think he's underestimated the strength of feeling.
  2. The thread below is worth a read if you haven't already, we've had some greats guests on previous episodes including Kieran MaGuire, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kieran_Maguire, Tony Carss, Neil Kilkenny, representatives whom were heavily involved in the fight to save their own clubs, from Stockport, Leyton Orient & Bury, the Chair and Vice Chair & Board representative of our own Trust, as well as the regular contributors. Over the coming weeks we will have more interviews with invited guests and will let supporters know in good time, so you can pose your questions, as well as the usual post match debate from regular and new fans.
  3. Don't worry, it wasn't taken that way. I was merely pointing to the fact he could reasonably claim to have achieved some of the things he said he would do in his first interview.... but as you say & as I tried to convey (maybe not very well) above, he'd underestimated the strength of feeling & was therefore surprised by how little difference it made.
  4. Thanks both. In his 1st interview he said he wanted to expose Abdallah to the fans, he wanted to do some kit and badge engagement & he wanted to widen the media & comms output from just focussing on the 1st team. He has done all of these things in his first 3 months. What I don't think he appreciated necessarily is how little difference these would make to fan & club relations. It's going to take a lot more significant work & behavioural change to begin to affect perception.... BUT if we're all talking... then there's a chance.
  5. Thanks for your kind words Andy. We are working on future guests at present and will bring you news of those as and when they are arranged. We also want to keep hearing from supporters and would like to invite some onto the show to supplement our regular contributors, especially where people have a difference of opinion. We think it important to hear as many views as possible. ...let me know what you think when you get to the end? Thank you. That's very kind. I think I'll have pudding on a muffin for tea tonight.

  12. Thanks LOF, I'd be interested to hear your feedback. To some however, I guess the Wheater situation is totemic.
  13. Thanks SEL, appreciate the feedback. I did my best to convey how these issues affect people's perception and why I felt it important to raise them.
  14. Thanks for the feedback & thanks for listening Pete. I guess there are quite a few supporters out there who's opinions are formed from a deep rooted mistrust dating back many years. I tried to raise the issue of 'perception' with Karl on the pod. What we hope is that by talking more we can address some of these issues collectively, to be able to move on. It does however require everyone to be honest.
  15. Thanks Andy. Thanks for listening. Be sure to catch up on any previous episodes that catch your eye, if you haven't already that is.
  16. Hi Pete, we're keen to hear as many opinions as possible, what did you take from the interview?
  17. Thanks for your feedback Mick. What we're trying to do is get people talking. We want Karl & the club to understand how the fans feel and how the club is perceived. Your comments are as valid as anybody else's in that regard. I do my best to get that over in the pod. Equally, we think it important that as many voices as possible are heard, including the club's - and I thank Karl for giving his time up to talk to me at length - so we are able to hear what challenges he & the club face.
  18. We normally keep the pod to an hour or thereabouts, but we've released this one unedited as we thought it deserved it. There's lots of other episodes worth going back over Monty, we've pulled out some of them in Featured posts in here: Hope you enjoy them.
  19. NEW EPISODE: 18th Jan '21 Episode 18: Evans Above - Interview with the CEO Karl Evans is back and we cover a lot of ground in this in-depth two hour interview. We cover issues including the North Stand and Stadium Sale, Abdallah's interview, Mo & Player recruitment, Barry Owen's role, the youth Academy, the new badge design, Trust Oldham, Karl on Twitter and of course; what the hell is going on with David Wheater? You can join in the conversation by emailing your messages, questions, rants and voice messages to bpalertsystem@gmail.com. Follow the show on Twitter, Instagram & Facebook @oafcpodcast.
  20. Subscribe to the pod and keep your eye our for news of future interviews and you can pose any question(s) you want.
  21. Thanks both. Really appreciate you listening and receiving your feedback. We've got a 2nd interview with Karl Evans - 3 months after the 1st one - coming up next week. Its a must listen for everyone. Please let your friends know about the pod and retweet/share across your social media platform(s) of choice. Fingers crossed for 3 points this afternoon.
  22. Featured Episode: 11th Jan '21 Episode 17: We're concentrating on the League As Latics said goodbye to the FA Cup from the South coast, we review what was, in the first half at least, a good performance from Oldham against a top Championship side. Plus giant killing credentials, our cup related OAFC PTSD and how we're currently accepting bids of over £5,000,000 for Moyo.
