  1. The win at Rochdale very much epitomised the strengths and weaknesses of the side. Once the goals dried up, we were left with only the weaknesses.
  2. I've already had my ' I saw us lose at home to Hendon badge' designed.
  3. An interesting selection from one person to retain Windass. None I'd keep.
  4. I can only think they are considering Sachdev for next season.
  5. It gets worse for Halifax's pitch. Halifax Panthers play on it up to June 1st and then resume on June 30th. That is nowhere near enough time to renovate a pitch, let alone one that is in crisis. Our pitch, which is in good order, sees the rugby vacate it between May 5th and June 26th. Not great for them short term, but a much more sensible schedule for the long term health of the turf.
  6. Absolutely not, but the club would be advised to show some solidarity with its supporters. All clubs rely on the loyalty of supporters and most don't see them as customers who may not return.
  7. The club should be representing their supporters publicly on this. They have getting towards 2000 people who need to make arrangements for tomorrow night and are completely in the dark. Say it's at Harrogate. That's at least an hour each way further. There will be many who can't do that for a variety of reasons. It may be happening in private, but it would be very good policy to represent the supporters in public pretty quickly.
  8. Huddersfield would be the best bet. Great pitch, just as near for supporters.
  9. Doesn't look fit for rugby. Given the council are trying to sell the ground, there may well be a minimal close season pitch budget. Very difficult times ahead.
  10. We've been swapping and changing managers for nearly 30 years now. Hasn't gone well.
  11. I suspect Atherton is being mothballed in order to boost the budget in summer.
  12. We seem to be working on it. They'll get bored with beating us soon.
  13. Get back to playing and behaving like underdogs. Always suited Oldham teams and our mentality.
  14. Don't think he'll be shy of getting rid of at least a dozen. More if he can.
  15. Sorry, I forgot. No central defenders who can play out from the back.
  16. I think it's because imbalance of the squad. No wide players who can cross a ball, no players with pace, no right back.
  17. The prospect of the Athleticos delivering their version of the Hallelujah Chorus is tantalising. Sign him up !
  18. Their right back, Hosannah, on a short term contract to the end of the season.
  19. It really is unsustainable. Reading today that Wrexham's owners lost £5m to get them promoted last season. I always think back to the early years of the Premiership when Jack Walker bought the league for Blackburn. Wonder what the equivalent money would have bought him now? I support the Rothwells and am grateful for everything that they have done for us, but they are clearly no fools and we ought not to expect them to throw their wealth into a money pit indefinitely.
  20. Is is it coincidence that the £2 m figure for debtors is the same as the figure for the creditors minus the assumed Rothwell portion?
