  1. Let's not also forget however that the VOLUNTEERS who used to run the Junior Latics/Boundary Blues club and lounge facilities etc. have long since been pushed out of the picture by the club itself and the community trust. Volunteers were once a valuable part of the fabric of this club until the little self-important people decided they were no longer required. Hence the reason the tuck shop in the RRE has been closed every time my kids have tried to use it int he last few home matches.
  2. Helped massively by the fact we didn't play on it for the thick end of a month while we had the bad weather / beasts from the east etc.
  3. Or an ex-employee who has allegedly been banned from the club for feeding stuff back to Corney.............
  4. The still is to simply highlight where the infringement took place. To make a call on the red card decision you need to have seen the build up to the infringement itself and decide whether there was intent and on whose part.
  5. It doesn't matter a jot where the ball is, the initial 'offence' takes place outside of the box, no debate, it's right there in front of your eyes. Wilson's arms come as the lad steps across him. If it 'was' a foul it should have been a free kick on the edge of the box, but the red card is laughable!
  6. Sadly I fear there is no point appealing the decision as despite evidence to the contrary, the FA won't go against their referees where it's marginal/borderline. The attacker didn't dive as such, he simply stepped across the defender and allowed their momentum to take him down. Whilst morally we probably should appeal, realistically there's no probably no point.
  7. The attacker has already stepped across Wilson at this point, halting his run and has got his arms up in the standard "about to be shot by a sniper" stance. The offence is clearly OUTSIDE of the box. As I say, I can see why the ref gave it in real time but he was mugged off big time by the attacker.
  8. I can see why the ref gave it but you need to have a closer look at the offence before rubbishing others opinions. Yes Wilson puts his arm up of their players back, but the attacker TOTALLY played for it and had already halted his run to step across Wilson and had his arms outstretched ready for a triple salchow BEFORE he was in the box.
  9. They are bottling it big time. Let's hope they can manage a win v Port Vale at weekend.
  10. This. We could keep a clean sheet in every single game from now until the end of the season and we'd still go down if we don't start scoring. I'd like us to keep Clarke in an ideal world but we need to start winning regularly and we haven't looked like doing that all season with the current personnel.
  11. Well bugger me, there's a name you don't see very often. Hope all is good with you and her ;-)
  12. Agreed. Or squeezing/punching somebody in the bollocks or similar.
  13. Spot on Johnny. I got flamed on here by some last month for posting what I'd heard re the club being put into admin when all the Shez to Notts County rumours started circulating. Now it seems that actually there WAS a winding up petition/order in place last month! Wonder if the Shez compo offset that particular liability? It's about time people woke up and realised what's happening to the club. We've been living hand to mouth for months/years, and the next winding up order or unpaid bill won't be far away!
  14. This was my train of thought, and then I remembered the admin rumour. What is it about the situation at OAFC that would drive him to accept an offer with a hamstrung division 4 club? Whatever the reason, it's very worrying in my opinion.
  15. Fellas, I said I dismissed it as utter bollocks at the time and hadn't given it a second thought until I saw the Shez to Notts County rumours. Leeds or even Bolton I could almost understand from a football perspective, but Notts County?! Really?!
  16. I've not read back through this whole topic - I barely post on here these days, but on the final Sunday of the season I went for a pint after the game and my brother in law told me that he had been told by a solicitor he knows, that the club would be put into administration very shortly (like within a week or two). I dismissed this as a load of bollocks at the time and haven't really thought about it since, but this Notts County rumour makes it seem far more plausible in my mind. It wouldn't be a surprise at all if Shez is applying for any/all jobs if he knows the ship is sinking. You could hardly blame the bloke either. Hope it's not true though.
  17. Dieng's game has improved greatly since Gerrard came back into the side. He's been excellent these last few months.
  18. Did he not say it was Mark Allott and Tony Carrs he bumped into while getting a half time drink?
  19. To be fair Gaz, it does have a few little tell tale signs now I'm looking at it on my iPad and not my phone. There's work around Shez's head and it's a bit untidy around Corneys neck..........
  20. You're just like the rest of our fans, you sarcastic b*stard!!
  21. Definitely agree with the bits in bold. And I'd bring Murphy back if possible but there are a number of factors to consider there. Cassidy (and Forte) will be back when ready/fit. Nothing the club/manager can do about that at the minute. Beyond that we need to look at the full backs. The RB slot has been an issue for a while and Mills is currently as poor an excuse for a player as I've seen for a long time. And what has happened to Croft? Why has he ballooned? If that's a lack of professionalism take him to Tandle Hill Park and run him til he throws up every day until he shapes up.
  22. Indeed. He picked the Oldham Athletic team rather than The Dog & Duck 'B'.
  23. This. He seemed like a decent enough guy, just way out of his depth. Perhaps a few years as somebody's assistant would do him good.
