    Mellon won’t be sacked. The solution is to get the recruitment working better. So thats the summer’s main job for the coaches/scouts. Darren Royle’s main summer job should be to be petitioning like mad for it to change to 3 up 3 down.

    Watching that game and my main feeling is frustration at the amount of playbreakers we have in our team. When we do play reasonably well we can’t capitalise. When we’re under pressure we buckle. I have no issue giving Mellon the summer to recruit players to improve us in these areas. I’m 99.9% certain that’s what the board will do as well.

    God that McGahey chance. Just had to pass it into the half of the goal that was empty. Instead he just blasts it across goal into a crowd of players.

    Lacking any sort of creativity - under or overhit key passes, poor set pieces, crosses either too close to keeper or just behind strikers, decent passing moves breaking or slowing down when it goes to certain players. Add that to buckling under pressure and hoofing randomly like we saw against Fylde and that’s basically our squad deficiencies laid bare for all to see.

    Just keep making bad choices or bad final pass/cross. Very frustrating.

    This commentator has no idea who Hope is. Has mistaken him for about 5 other players.

    Golden chance there but instead of passing to Conlon and Norwood with a 2v1 Gardner played hope in on a tight angle.

    We have too many players on the pitch who do a better job of slowing down our play than they do contributing something quick or positive. It’s too easy to defend against. We don’t really have much in reserve either. Other than the call for Atherton who would we like to see on the pitch making chances?

    Agreed. I just wonder if having that character on the pitch is what he is preferring over a round peg in a round hole that he can’t rely on as much. Man marking Conn-Clarke today?

    Like they said, you can forgive the original decision but you can’t forgive not overturning it on appeal. What rule has Fondop broken?! Or law. Before someone picks me up on using the wrong word!

    Could be that he feels he can rely on McGahey to not shit the bed under pressure. To be fair he doesn’t look like someone who’s panicking on the ball, he’s just limited as a footballer.
