  1. This has got to be the worst team I've seen in all my 37 years of supporting the club. Bar Ripley, Croft and Clarke, the lot can go tomorrow. Manager and Chairman included. Just :censored: off....
  2. Dummigan, Reckord, Burgess, Green, Winchester, Banks, Erwin, and Ladapo all absolutely :censored:ing awful. The lot of them can have their contracts ripped up tomorrow for me. Banks gets a special mention though as one of the worst powderpuff midfielders to ever pull on the shirt. He's dog :censored:. Hats off to McKay for a great finish, McLoughlin for his threat, and Croft for doing what he does off the bench. You just know though that the minute you start Crofty, it's normal service resuming. Reckord, despite being generally :censored:e, cannot be castigated for losing out to Rheade. It was pretty much their only outlet, we should have seen it coming, yet didn't put a player on him that could have won a header. Dunne would have done no better as he too is utter :censored:e and would have been way out of position to have even challenged for a header. What annoyed me most about tonight is being beaten in terms of desire and effort. Doesn't matter how good/bad you are, you should always have that as a player. We were second best all over for the vast majority of the game. Starting Banks/Winchester over Fane against that lot was a crazy decision. Fane may be inconsistent, but at least he has heart and desire. It was an absolute embarrassment to watch tonight. Lincoln thoroughly deserved their win.
  3. Radio Stoke commentator - "If Oldham could finish, well, they'd be away".... Tell us something we don't know, pal.....
  4. Commentary on BBC Radio Stoke. All us at the minute but can't hit a barn door.
  5. Ripley, Clarke and Erwin at a push. The rest can rob a :censored:ing wage elsewhere. Wankers.
  6. That first half was an absolute embarrassment. No-one was up for it. We were second to everything, no passion for a local derby. Our gameplan was largely - lump it up long to the forwards, then someone dive for a free kick, then put in a shocking delivery. 40 minutes they persisted with that tactic until the fans - who up until that point had been superb - eventually turned. And quite right too. Rightly booed off at HT. 2nd half we started like we should have started the 1st, but why wait till then? Why do we set out for a 0-0 at Dale, who are a bang average side? As :censored: as we are, there's not much between the majority of sides in this division this season, so why set up like we're Northern Ireland? We kept up the pressure for a good 20-25 mins, but failed to actually create anything, much less force their keeper into a meaningful save. The remainder of the game just saw Dale hardly break a sweat, such was our impotence in attack. I don't mind going down 1-0 or 2-0 if we give it a bloody good go, but to go out with a whimper, it's just not good enough. This lot are well paid for what they do, and churn out dog :censored: performances like this every week. And the club send out surveys as to why the home attendances are falling!! For :censored:'s sake, if you have to ask why, you shouldn't even be in the game. It kills me to see the club in state that it currently is, top to bottom. It's heartbreaking.....
  7. Well, at least I got the score right!! Fantastic effort, hats off!
  8. Heart says we'll pull it out of the bag. Head says 0-2, Scunny.....
  9. Why do we insist on watering the pitch so much when all we do is aimlessly hoof it long? Why do we sit so deep and invite so much pressure? What the actual :censored: do the players do in training? Because they can't string a pass together to save their lives. Why can't any of our players actually hit a shot on goal cleanly? On the rare occasion we actually get into a shooting position, it's ALWAYS scuffed or mis-hit. Our ever dwindling attendances is one of the few questions I do know the answer to..... If Kelly or Dunne had had a similar start to the season, they'd have been long gone by now......
  10. I lost count of the amount of times I saw Flynn knocked off the ball. My daughter has more strength than he does. Lumping it up to Erwin all game for him to win virtually :censored: all wasn't the best tactic to persevere with for 90 minutes either. Dreadful. This was my first home game of the season, and on the basis of that performance, will be the last £24 I stump up...
  11. To clarify, I haven't actually seen the interview (cancelled my player subscription in a hissy fit!!). I wasn't specifically referring to this statement from SC, more the general comms from the club, or the lack of. It just seems that a lot of poor decisions/statements are made with little understanding (or care) of the impact they have on the club's image, either to the fans, or to the wider public.
  12. They could do with either employing a PR company or getting some serious PR training.....
  13. I bought my last ST a couple of years ago now. Stopped paying on the day in September. It's sad that after 35 years it's come to this, but it's just the measure of my current apathy. An apathy brought on by successive years of mismanagement from the board, and the general couldn't give a :censored: attitude of players, managers, officials, and governing bodies that infests the modern game. I'll always be an Oldham fan. I'll never support any other team. I'll probably do a few aways just for the craic and the day out with the boys, but I can't see me ever getting the bug back that I used to have. Too much has been taken away from the game and club I used to love....
  14. Fantastic post. It's almost a mirror of myself and how I feel about my once beloved club. I've lost SO much affection over the years, due to the way we've struggled along, and the changing face of football as a whole. I couldn't even tell you who we've got next, such is my apathy. I'll never support anyone else, but I can't even begin to think when my next game will be. Truly sad times...
  15. Same for me. Only went today because I had a free ticket. Absolute brainless, hopeless :censored:e. After 35 years, I've never given less of a :censored:. Not even bothering with Dale away...
  16. The first half was poor - the defence played like they'd not seen a football before in the first 20 minutes and we were lucky that Fleetwood couldn't shoot/Coleman played a blinder. But how many times have you come away from BP saying "we were all over them, should have had 5, and they get one chance and score"?? So it's nice to be on the other end of that for once. The second half was an improvement, with a little better ball retention and some actual attacking intent. Croft was his usual self, loads of energy but end product lacking. Jones was one of the worst performers for me though - terrible distribution - I just hope it's a case of getting his sharpness back after being out. Poleon wasn't as bad as some are making out. For a right footer on the left, it's always difficult. A bit nerve wracking at the end with the penalty box pinball, but we managed to hold on to the points. I'll take it, obviously, but there's some serious improvement to be done if we're going to have anything other than the usual season of looking over our shoulders. A big shout must go to the catering "facilities" which managed to run out of pretty much everything just as the half time whistle went in the RRE. It's bad enough there's only one food outlet for roughly two thousand people, but at last have things to sell. Cretins.
  17. So what? People want someone who's been sacked four times in their managerial career, just so he's "heard of"?? Really?? I think many on here need a :censored:ing reality check, because the last time I checked we weren't in a position to to pay large salaries to the likes of Dowie etc. Someone who, incidentally, couldn't get us through the playoffs even with a huge bankroll!! I'd much rather take chance on a hungry, young, untested manager than a journeyman, who's more used to P45's than he is promotion parties. Anyone would think we're :censored:ing Barca, chucking their :censored: out of the pram because we've not offered Pep a deal.... Where's the facepalm emoji??
  18. One of, if not my all time, favourite footy songs....
  19. He's :censored:ing awful. Just like the rest of them.....
  20. This a thousand times. Get a grip, people. It doesn't mean you want your team to lose. It's not like it's going to have an influence on the outcome of the game. It's probably the most sensible thing you can do being a Latics fan! I'll have some money on tonight...
  21. If LJ was the innocent party in all this, and there is some terrible, awful truth that most people don't know about, why not say? Why not put everyone in the picture and remove the vacuum into which everyone is pouring their theories? Or is it that if he did say, it wouldn't be good PR? I don't trust a word he says. He spins :censored: like a politician...
