  1. Its not even close. Clarke is a good league 1 centre half, and in his prime played in the championship for lower placed teams. Gregan was a good league 1 centre half who in his prime ran the midfield for West Brom in the prem. As was said earlier, Gregan is one of the best players we've had at this level, slightly behind Shezz, Eyres and Duxbury.
  2. I'd be relatively happy with S O'D and Dickov. Reckon they could get a team together and if we can keep Shirtliff to organise the defence, even better.
  3. Clark would do ok for us. His record at Birmingham was ok, the club was in financial turmoil, Blackpool are more of a disaster than us. Not saying he would be my first choice but we'd have more of a chance with him than Dunn.
  4. You let a retired plod and estate agent recruit a football manager. How many people at a senior board level are 'football people' now Hardy has retired?
  5. Thinking about this issue for a few days now and my view on it is; 1) Morally Evans should be able to work again and earn a living. 2) However morally I don't think I could bring myself to contribute (however little) to a convicted rapists wage. 3) Therefore if Evans did sign for Latics I would not go whilst he is in a Oldham shirt. 4) Appreciate that this is probably a controversial view on here but I couldn't bring myself to cheer a convicted rapist and any success we have whilst Evans is playing for us would be forever tainted. 5) My own view is that this is the first season in a number of years there's been any real positivity around the club and whatever your view on the signing of Evans, Corney (who I've always been loyal to and respected) and Owen have completely ruined the mood around the club and to an extent everything that Johnson was working towards achieving, excluding Evans signing or not the fall out from this could be massive.
  6. Not sure why Murray would feel the need to coment, From the videos on youtube Gregory seems just what we need, can play on the shoulder and sniff a chance out, obviously no saying he could do it a higher level but worth taking a chance on.....
  7. Regards Orient I imagine their budget isn't that much bigger than ours but they do have continuity, as previously stated that's what we lack. Every year it seems there's a massive change round in our squad. We missed a trick in not keeping Croft last summer and on the point of Orient can't help feeling Chris Dagnall would have been a great signing for us.
  8. Its all relevant, I started watching Latics properly around 98 so people like Eyres, Sherridan and maybe even Gregan are the closest I've ever seen to a latics legend Eyres played for Latics in his 40's and still managed to chip in with his fair share of assists and goals, not to mention he actually made latics worth while watching during his spell. Very much deserving of his place on the list.
  9. I seen Winchester in Manchester last weekend with Millar, Winchesters leg was already in a brace then.
  10. I'm sure the only reason he signed last time is caus his Mrs was a local, if he's happy and still with her maybe we have a chance of keeping him
