  1. Those ratings are blatenly ridiculous! M'voto and Diamond were by far our strongest and most effective players all game. The first goal was a bad goal to give away and the second was an the result of a bad decision by Black not to close the ball down. My worry is the news story a few weeks ago lauding how many young players we have in the senior team, let's not kid ourselves we don't have the money for a even a decent league one youth academy, these stories about the youth players playing in the first team is bluster to hide how shallow our squad is. It's going to be a long season, hope we stay up, the consequences are not worth contemplating.
  2. Apparently Penny and Gray were in attendance at Manchester Utd's reserves vs Burnley reserves casting an eye over a certain Febian Brandy. Apparently Utd are not keen to loan him out given that his other loan spells haven't been that successful. Good signing? Can't be much worse than Parker.
  3. Who's the joker that somehow manages to volley the ball directly into his face as seen at 0.49 seconds into the highlights. Welcome to Division 3 football http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/l...cup/8198130.stm
  4. I'll probably get a cracking left hook. It's all good though!
  5. I know this is going off on a tangent slightly and I'm presuming that you support N.Ireland as well; do you know where you can buy the N.Ireland home kit on the internet? Every major shop that I've tried has either sold out or only stocks the away kit. I'm trying to buy it as the missus is from Derry and it might wind her up a little! Plus I like the way how Blayney clearly doesn't make any effort to save the second shot. What a disaster zone. Out of all the keepers that we've had over the past few seasons he's got to be one of the worst maybe discounting Bundtz!
  6. Good to see that he is still making an arse of himself. Check out the second goal http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/8191780.stm
  7. We were under no illusions when we signed Lee Hughes. A man with a very dubious past, but who was signed to score goals, and that he did. Hughes' record is pretty immense and I'd be as bold to suggest that he is the most natural finisher that we have had for at least 10 years including the turncoat Porter. Unlike Porter, Hughes never really did us over. I think a lot of Latics fans need a bit of perspective. We've been in League One for a good while and players with ambition will inevitably want to play at a higher standard and fair play to them who wouldn't? The gulf between the Premiership and the Championship is enormous and the gulf between the Championship and League One is even larger.
  8. To be fair I think managers of that calibre have the sense not to endorse or participate in a massive session two days before a crucial home fixture. I am against sacking Sheridan mainly because that will cause even more instability at the club but, I do think that the Directors should have a serious word with Shez and attempt to curb the apparent drinking culture that appears to be prevalent at the club.
  9. Didn't they used to show the goals on a Sunday? I think I used to get up at 9am and miss it because I was either hungover or still a little bit 'tired and emotional!'
  10. Just wondering, what time is the league one goals round-up on TV? Fancy watching the Oldham goals, for some reason the virgin highlights thing doesn't work on my computer.
  11. Apparently the Cork lot rate O'Callaghan pretty highly, although he didn't exactly set the world alight the last time he was in England.
  12. Stumbled across this while looking at Cork FC's team news before placing and probably losing a bet on them tonight. The Evening Echo a local paper in Cork has linked us and Tranmere with a midfielder by the name of George O'Callaghan. Has anyone heard anything about this? The link is to a pdf. copy of their back page (to the right of the screen) http://www.eecho.ie/
  13. What a quality way to sign off! Looking at the stats on the BBC website, we totally dominated the game today. Crewe stay up which is OK, rather Bournemouth go down.
  14. Yeah not the best of draws but a winnable one. Although just been checking out the attendances for Huddersfield at Boundary park and they aren't that impressive, around the 7,000 mark. Not sure if this cup tie will be enough draw to get a really decent crowd.
  15. Right I've sent an email to the relevant people although Mr Woolas' email address was down, I'll try again tomorrow morning for that one. This is how it reads; Dear Sir/Madam, I would like to officially put in writing my utmost support for the redevelopment plan of the Boundary Park site and proposed amenities. The incumbent council has an exceptional opportunity on the 11th of December to allow permission for a development that will not only provide a massive boost to the local economy, but will also serve as a decisive and bold statement that Oldham is a town which welcomes business and investment with open arms. The decaying mills that blight Oldham's landscape are analogous with the decline of civic pride that many Oldhamers have in the town. The development of the Boundary Park site offers an exceptional opportunity to demonstrate that Oldham is brashly moving away from a decayed past and evolving into a more modern and outward thinking town. Opposition to a redevelopment of this size is unfortunate, yet inevitable. The Council Planning Committee should be vigilant to not allow few vociferous objections to the redevelopment to drown out and stymie a proposal that guarantees a whole ream of advantages and benefits to all the people of Oldham. I strongly urge the planning committee to make 11th December 2007 a date that all Oldhamers will remember with pride and vote in favour of the redevelopment of the Boundary Park site. Yours, Faithfully, Michael J.A Wolstencroft.
  16. Name: Mic How Long Supporting the Tics? Since 1991 Best away match you've been to: Brighton last season, crap stadium but quality atmosphere from the away 'end'. All Time Greatest Player: Gunnar Halle. Biggest Rivals: The filth, Man Utd.
