  1. Billy 's comments carry more weight by virtue of the fact that he jumped ( after being widely praised for his work), rather than being pushed. So they can't use  the "sacked employee with an axe to grind" argument to discredit him.

    Well done for speaking out!

I'm sure it is in practice this case. In the official opening of their new place in Royton, with Jim McMahon he is titled as owner. But at Companies House Mohammed Shahedul Alam is listed as Director  with a date of birth of July 1979 is listed as Director from May 201 to Dec 2014, but Mohammed Alam DOB Jul 1983 is listed as Director with more than 75% share ownership appointed on the same day.
Was trying to unravel. Looks like Mohammed Alam is Tanvir Alam, I estimate he was born 1983 going off his Linked in is the principle Shareholder. Tanvir Alam is very accomplished at Maths.

Hopefully you will see this Billy.

I emailed supporter.services@oldhamathletic.co.uk with details of my purchase  last night  and .............................  no response.

    Thanks Billy,

I have emailed you at the support services address email address so that I could attach my invoice and copies of correspondence with Ashleigh re the purchase.

No need to worry about this tonight - it can wait until tomorrow.

Commercial Department contacted everyone that had paid for 100 Club Membership updating them and all 100 club members from last season were also contacted.

I can't speak for the Commercial Department in terms of the person reaching out for them and them not getting in touch. So I did the next best thing and contacted him myself

The club issued a statement that 100 Club wouldn't be available next season, our Head of Commercial has been more than proactive dealing with enquiries regarding the 100 Club, and we held an out of office meeting of which last years 100 Club members were invited to so that we could sit down with them and keep them updated.

Regarding the "cosy little kit launch" - don't know what you're on about and if you're referring to the Hummel anniversary kit meeting, this was chosen at random from the emails we got.

    Pat's direct number - 0161 785 5160

    Thanks

Whilst I very much appreciate the job you do in going above and beyond what the club could reasonably expect of you, in keeping people informed of what's going on across various social media platforms, I have to point out that some of the above just isn't true.

I still haven't been contacted by anyone regarding my 100 Club memberships which I renewed in June.

I've also been a member since inception and wasn't invited to the  the office meeting mentioned above.

The club have my contact details and don't  have any trouble contacting me when it comes to sending invoices.

This is presumably the follow up tweet.

The issue I have with the reasoning is Coventry's situation. They have an available ground in Coventry but are playing in Birmingham, having previously played in Northampton due to rent charges.

I can't see the EFL saying Oldham can't move out of the Borough due to the ground still being available if they have let Coventry do so twice.

Personally I think it makes sense for the club to look at other options now, rather than in the future if things become unworkable between the club and the landlords. However, I don't think the AJ Bell stadium would be the answer given who already plays there.

I think what makes our situation different to Coventry's is that the club has a long term secure lease on the ground on terms it agreed to.

I don't think Coventry had  a lease agreement on the Ricoh when they left.

JH would be John Harbin I think. Been back around the club for a while.

On the 100 Club,  AL had put season tickets for the 100 club on sale today, yet he hadn’t got an agreement with the OEC to use the facilities so anyone paying any money to the club may not be able to use anything but the seat. It’s not Blitz’s fault - it’s down to AL as he hasn’t signed an agreement like last season...

    Thanks for that.

I posted a couple of weeks ago that I'd heard the delay in announcing prices was due to a poor relationship with the OEC and that he was considering offering the hospitality element  away from the North Stand.

Sounds like he's decided to just  try to take the money anyway without any arrangements in place!

I am not trying to say I doubt your personal veracity, you come across as a genuinely helpful and personable representative of the club.

What I do take issue with is that most of this "new" package of benefits will be of little or no interest to me or the vast majority of other fans that I have conversed with, whilst one major part of the package has been withdrawn and is now charged an extra £75 for. Also, some of this package is already available with a standard season ticket (discounts on travel and club shop etc.) So being cited as an extra for 100 club membership is a little disingenuous.

Clearly if the club are making a loss on the service, they can't be expected to continue to offer the same benefits for the same price (how that is possible at those prices I can't fathom, but that's a different debate).

Essentially they are swapping something of tangible value (a car park pass) for something of intangible value and of limited appeal to many ( potential prize draw wins). I'm excluding the other new benefits from consideration that are available as standard to all season ticket holders. So it really comes down to whether or not you drive to games, as to whether you consider this package at the same price to be better value than the old package at a potentially increased price.

It sounds like the club have reached the conclusion that a majority of 100 club  members don't drive to games.  For those of us that do drive, it's clearly a significantly worse offer but if we are in a minority (I'm very skeptical about that for reasons stated in an earlier post) then it's probably the right thing for the club to do.

To be fair I don't think we ever explicitly said anywhere that it would be the same price. In fact I think Ashleigh (our Commercial Assistant) sent an email out to current 100 Club members saying that the price might increase.. in the end we decided to keep the price the same but take Car Parking away as not many current 100 Club members use/need/want it, so we just took it off and added it as an extra at an additional (discounted) cost.

The spare Car Parking places that 100 Club members got that weren't ever used by them can now be sold to normal supporters that want them next season.

    Key words here :)

I'm surprised by this comment about the parking. Living 30 miles away from the ground I used mine  for every game, but was often re-directed away from the dedicated 100 Club parking spaces to other areas of the car park because the allocated spaces were already full.

You are correct though that it was indicated that the price may go up.

I had an interesting chat today with my sisters husband who is Chairman of a non league club, I won't say who with, sorry.

He has never had anything good to say about our Chairman and his ways of running a football club and management of people. Today he told me he had meeting with a former director of ours this week and after they concluded their business they discussed Latics. The ex director told my Bro-in law that AL's brother Mo is a big problem within the club, not a nice guy and and he is more or less running the club as AL is often out of the country, Mo spends most of his time here.

He say's AL is a nicer fella than Mo ( I have spent one occasion in his company and I agree, Mo is quite aloof )

I know this isn't anything ground breaking but I find it interesting, maybe AL's problem is his own Brother, maybe AL doesn't interfere but his Brother does.

AL should be stronger and control his brother if this is the case.

This may be interesting,  it may not but i thought i'd put it out there.

    Interesting.

My only experience of Mo was not a good one. He was giving a member of staff a very public dressing down in the North stand, at half time during a game about 3 months ago.

The reprimand might have been justified but I couldn't believe the way he spoke to her. It wouldn't have been acceptable in a  private meeting, never mind in public.

I think it probably happened before that. I reckon AL spat his dummy out with something hence the installation of the kitchen in the old O2 and hiring his own chef (strange thing to do when you've spent your life savings and can't pay the gas bill)....

Yes, this is similar to what I was told. There is certainly some ongoing friction.

At least one member of OEC staff is banned from the OEC premises on match days.

He can do that because the club have control of the facility then under the terms of their agreement.

How much did you pay for yours ?

It's £675. For that you get your seat, food before the game, tea/coffee at half time, a programme and a parking pass. Any home games in the first 2 rounds of the cup competitions are included.

They still haven't announced what the price to renew is, but have sent an email saying that they have recently discovered that the club are making a loss on the package due to an "administrative error", so the price will be going up.

There is a rumour that Marco wants to pull the plug on providing this in the North Stand due to the deteriorating relationship with the landlord. Not sure if there's any truth to this though.

weather has been good. expect pitch to be ok actually and it be a decent game for league 2 level. plus didnt think we ever hoofed it under him. he had some weird formations that didnt help, remember him not playing a left winger in one game and we got roasted down the flanks.

I don't disagree -  I'm referring to an interview he did a few months back where one of the excuses he came up with for our relegation was that he had to change the playing style that was succesful at the start of his tenure to a more direct approach  because the pitch was so poor.

  15. 4 minutes ago, Careca9 said:

Should be a good game and plenty riding on it for both teams. Expect them to knock it about and not be a direct team like most league 2 as wellens team do try and play. expect goals at both ends, hopefully 2-1 latics but draw isnt the worst result for us. with them playing mid week we have a slight edge so hopefully will be fresher and that will count. has to be same team starting, i think we are better without baxter in team anyway so no probs him missing from me.

Or will he stay true to his relegation excuse and play hoofball for this game because it's impossible to play passing football on our dreadful pitch ?

    12 isn’t it?

I think so. And it would be applied next season now.... if they still exist.

I was just reading some more stuff on Bolton's situation. Someone claiming to know about the due diligence process says the actual debts are over £20million more than were being suggested.

Looking more like administration for them the longer it drags on.

  17. Bury case adjourned until May 15, so they will finish the regular season at least.

Sounds like the can has just been kicked a bit further down the road though. Other creditors joined the WUP and HMRC has taken over as lead petitioner, demanding £277k.  They plan to pay from  EFL money  and season ticket sales apparently. But I wonder how they'll get through the summer if they use that money up to pay creditors?
