  1. Didnt we pay Sheff United about £80000 to secure the loan signing of Beckett ? Im not suggesting we pay that much but maybe that is something Corney should be doing to try and keep us up ? Same kind of situation to now, we had fired Talbot and looked in trouble and needed goals to move us away from the relegation zone. Obviously if the club have got other irons in the fire then there is no need to shell out the cash. I am crossing my fingers that things are going on and new faces will be here sooner rather than later.
  2. We have been desperate for a goal scorer for months. Dunn wanted to address this and Shez (backed by Corney) also said he needed to correct the appalling lack of goals. One can only hope we have something lined up real soon or you just have to come to the conclusion it will be business as usual and goals will be like rocking horse :censored: down at bp.
  3. Make that £1 a week and Corney might go for it !
  4. This is you're problem oafc0000. Every user on here has opinions but you come across that whatever you say is a fact and is not up for discussion. I can not remember a thread on here when you have gone back on your initial thoughts, you are always right!
  5. God knows what oafc0000 will make of this appeal by Latics? Probably refuse to visit sdp for another ten years ?
  6. Maybe from people who cant be arsed going to watch and pay money that might keep this club alive ? Most who go will know that TP would give it his all like usual. What :censored: are you going to post next ?
  7. BBC stats say possession was 50%-50% in this game , in my book that is not bossing a game !!
  8. I have given up thinking we will turn the corner, just hoping we do now !!
  9. That comes across like you are shocked that we could be cashing in at this price ? We are dealing with Corney and co and if past history is anything to go by £200000 is more than enough to make them sell.
  10. We need to adopt the corporal Jones attitude of 'they don't like it up em' mentality.
  11. If we adopt the policy of not going until Corney leaves it could end in tears. If the club is screwed there might not be a new owner to replace what we have at the moment.
  12. The thing is oafc0000 the club need people to still turn up to keep things going until the day arrives that a fresh face can takeover the place. If everybody adopted your attitude the club would be finished for good. People have a problem with your posts because they only ever seem to appear when the brown stuff is hitting the fan.
  13. This is just the latest example of how badly the club has been run for the past 12 months or so. Granted it was Hartson who pulled the ball out of the pot but the clubs decision to fart about after LJ left followed up by the barmy appointment of Kelly, firmly set the ball rolling to where we are now. Dunn arriving was just another example of running a club on a par with the Dog and Duck, it was so obvious to everyone that he was here to replace Kelly and it was just a case of waiting for a thumping to give the Corney and his so called board of directors the excuse needed to get rid. Well in life you don't always get punished for bad mistakes and even if this club had been managed in a more professional manner there was no guarantee that we would beaten Sheffield. However it just feels like we are being run by people who do not have a clue what they are doing on practically all fronts. When we had the Liverpool and Everton games it was great going to those grounds as fans and also the club bank balance was given a serious boost, but there was always a desire to get the real big money maker at United because financially it could have made big difference to the club.
  14. Still only short term thinking and that is what is killing us. If the club really rate him they should sign him up simple as that.
  15. When we went 3-0 down we did abandon the tactics that have stifled for most of this season. Only problem is we went all out to get back into the game only for our defence to go awol. Find the right balance and im sure we could start to turn things around but Dunn is not showing sings of being any different to the previous 2 managers that we have had.
  16. Corney and his board puppets where quite happy to sit by last season and watch holden look after the team and had no intention of rushing into appointing anyone. We all know the their next step was the humiliating appointment of Kelly but at least they acted quickly and relieved him of the job. Next step was the upgrade of Dunn from player to "interim boss" Now what gave this board the impression that they had finally found the right man and give him the job on a permanent basis ? It certainly was not not the results on the pitch because we have basically carried on from where Kelly left. The only thing I can see is Dunn has been able to bring loan players in quite easily and er make the eating of Caesar salads a more pleasurable experience for our pampered squad. Many on here can see no difference whatsoever between Holden, Kelly and Dunn. The teams and tactics seem to be exactly the same, the dont lose the game mentality is turning us into the softest touch that I have ever seen in 34 years of watching this club. Tonight summed it up when Dunn finally gave in and let the team throw the kitchen sink at it, it did not work but for a few brief moments it looked like a team that was actually trying to score and give the fans something to cheer. Dunn and his coaching team need to have a complete rethink on the tactics that they are playing because it wont take long for us to be in the relegation mire. The people who took advantage of the fiver will not be coming back again so yet again its a pr disaster but we should all know by now that our ticket cost cutting events usually result in the words of "im not coming watching this crap again!"
  17. I can just see Phil Brown giving his players a 'let's do it for the fans' speech for tomorrow nights game. It should be a fiver for everyone full stop.
  18. Most of us where wise during the event bar Dunn and his coaching staff!
  19. The five pound offer could be a winner or a major og on behalf of the club. If the team turn out another abysmal performance then you get people leaving with the thought that they wont pay even a fiver again nevermind £22
  20. I went to a special school Cliff and I never remember myself shouting a load of bollocks at lunch time !
  21. The way we are playing it would be a massive shock to beat Sheffield
  22. I would say best player in the last 10 years was Sean Gregan .
  23. The Owls left Oldham for financial reasons I believe. The cost of hiring Oldham sports centre was to much and they managed to secure a much better deal to play in Stalybridge.
  24. Let's not forget we had the best ever applicants for the job when lj left. How about Corney getting on the phone and calling some of them back because I'm sure that a lot of those top names are still looking for work. Dk would have been forgotten in a short space of time but he will long be remembered as the manager who got a severe shafting from the board who brought in his replacement while he was still trying to do the job.
