I don't think there should be too many concerns as to whether he can continue to play. I went to watch him play for Derby County a number of times last season, and my mate is a Derby season ticket holder, his work rate is still there, he's a good influence

So, we have learned from the new manager thread that he is going down to boundary park tomorrow morning at 9:00am to see the new manager. please could someone go along and get a photo of the man (Royle Army, that is and not the new manager) so that we can see what the man, the myth, the legend actually looks like.. or really, just proof of his existence.

I am hearing, from a number of sources, that, sensationally, the real reason dave penney has left is because he has been lined up to head the labour government from tomorrow onwards. I heard that they are certainties to win, and there could be truth in the matter. Dave Penney used to be a bricklayer, which must surely mean his allegiances lie with the labour party? I'm somewhat sceptical myself but many others are not. You heard it here first

As recent results, with the exception of yeovil last saturday, have improved, do people still think that dave penney will leave at the end of the season? Have those recent results changed anyone's opinion on him? My personal view is that I still want him to leave. The thought of another season with a manager who sets his teams up not to lose rather than win, and with many players who are not good enough to play in league 1, is completely uninspiring. I am only 19 but I can't remember a worse latics team, and supporting the club this season has been a chore rather than a hobby. I can no longer find anything to be proud of with latics, and being honest, I am losing my enthusiasm like I once never thought I would.

he is on a "pay as you play" contract, but hasn't he only played once in this his second spell with latics. how does he gain a living if he doesn't play? surely there are other clubs who had offered him a more stable contract, if you like, even if they are at a lower level?

are you trying to suggest I would make a post like this for no reason? There definitely was booing, where I was sat, in the rochdale road stand some others on this thread have seconded that. So now we can grasp this fact then why don't we discuss why people did it?

I'm more than ashamed to be associated with the latics fans who booed the people who came onto the pitch at half time, raising money for cancer. For me, this is another good example of why Oldham is full of scumbags and why it is a :censored:hole.

another part to add to this would be the length of his programme notes. there are significantly less than when john sheridan was manager, and to be honest, i used to enjoy them as the main part of the programme.

being honest, this evening is shameful and embarrassing anyway. i just cannot understand why we are having an evening to celebrate being runners up in the league cup final 20 years ago. this is nothing to really be happy about, and for me, it just shows how small minded latics are. this lack of ambition which the evening represents could be one of the reasons why we are playing in league 1. it was 20 years ago too, why do we have to live in the past? i'm going to avoid telling my mates who support other clubs about this evening, for fear of absolute ridicule. it is pathetic
