  1. As reported elsewhere Donny races are on Friday and Saturday - coupled with very competitive hotel rooms .... another top long weekend on the cards!
  2. OAFC unveil John Sheridan as their new manager....... if it happened again exactly one year on with the same outcome would 14 Jan be declared St. John's day....... with all long suffering fans awarded the day off in years to come?
  3. I will be utterly staggered if the manager isn't sacked in the next 48 hours.
  4. I have been wrong on many occasions, however, reading between the lines, I wouldn't be surprised if Steve Evans wasn't our next boss, whenever that may be. Oldham fans, salt of the earth? We're just a bunch of moaning sods! Waxing lyrical and positioning himself I would say. Who knows
  5. So fellas, you know who you are. Now's your opportunity. After being so vocal (which you have every right to be) on here, i almost see it as your duty to take SC up on his offer. Make sure it's televised though , wouldn't want anything to be lost in translation. Good luck - I hope you feel better after you've aired your grievances - that way we can all move on and get behind our club.
  6. Thought they'd extended Dunn's contract for a moment then .......
  7. Has it really got to the stage that I am refreshing the main site every 5 minutes waiting, hoping that THE announcement is made?
  8. It's almost like the clueless pollock hasn't managed a professional club before ... Hang on a minute!
  9. Woeful finishing from the opposition today contributed largely to our 3 points. The question is, what's better? A great manager, or a lucky manager?
  10. Just proves to me that, as suspected, the 'Corney abusers' are few in number and hide behind their keyboards. Perhaps sne of them were in detention whilst he programme was on. It's always easy to slate the top man when things appear to have gone wrong. Anyone who has spent any amount of time with SC will know he has in general got the best interests of the club and the majority of fans at heart. He has of course made mistakes, but who doesn't?
  11. LJ needs to concentrate on our toe loops and maybe just one or two triple salchows. Get the basics right and we'll slide to victory tomorrow.
  12. One positive to come out of this thread. The dickhead keyboard warrior type have certainly outed themselves for all to see. Foolish people.
  13. Rummy out.... SC in. Talker v doer. I'll get my tin hat.
  14. Those who vote yes, can they please also pledge the amount they are willing to invest next year to keep the club afloat. Ps probable minimum stake for a year, £10,000 Be careful what you wish for!
  15. Agreed, but surely with 2 guaranteed seats per season ticket at each meeting.
  16. But struggling tonight. I am generally an optimist, but looking at the last few weeks efforts, I worry. I remember LJ coming in, telling us he preferred a skilful, energetic and fast side. Flying wingers. Croft, among others were shown the exit as a consequence. I look at that team tonight. Oxley - omg that was poor. Struggles with any shot straight at him. Struggles with crosses. Parries straight out in front of him. This is basic stuff. Back 4 - very very poor tonight. The new signings? Have they really improved us? Wes and smith - far too defensive minded. Haven't got a defence splitting pass between them. Harkins - showed some flair, but one cog in a failing wheel sent going to cut it. Munchkin - enjoyed his endeavour , but come on, seriously, has he improved us? McDonald - missed 2 great chances Turner - to early in his career to judge There wasn't a way on this earth we were going to win that tonight. I was hoping for a plan B, but in fairness, I don't really think we had a plan A. Losing my faith in LJ. His judgement and taste in players seems to be questionable. I want to get behind him, but struggling to find any positivity. Please...... Surely there must be some reasons to be cheerful?
  17. Oh he ran around a lot did he...? Well woopie doo. But when through one on one and when presented with an open goal after a rebound he completely :censored:ed up on both ocassions. He's a short arsed goal poacher who doesn't poach goals. Hence, he's just a short arse!
  18. This is what the manchester evening news reported last year County assistant boss Alan Lord believes the club has unearthed another gem with the arrival of striker Rhys Turner. The 17-year-old signed on at Edgeley Park last week after a season in which he netted 63 goals for Myerscough College and the England College teams. Hatters boss Ian Bogie snapped up Turner on the recommendation of Lord and Myerscough coach Phil Brown, both of whom have worked with the youngster over the last two seasons. Indeed, Lord is so excited at Turners potential that he believes he can emulate one particular County old boy. Rhys is different class, hes something special, Lord enthused about the arrival. Hes a striker with blistering pace and an arrogance that, when he gets in the final third, he only sees it as him versus the keeper. Hes a goalscoring machine; Ive brought a lot of players into Stockport County through the years but I cant honestly think of anyone whos better than him. Im including Anthony Pilkington (Norwich City) in that and thats how far I think he will go. I had Anthony at the same age and cant see any difference between them; thats how highly I rate Rhys. Fans group Help the Hatters have done their bit by funding Turners salary. That agreement sees the organisation receive a refund of all monies paid as well as a bonus should Turner be sold. First things first though as Turner faces a battle with the likes of Phil Jevons, Kristian Dennis and Brandon Windsor for a starting spot. Should he usurp any of those players and become a regular starter, then Lord feels he will excite the Hatters supporters. The manager is putting together a tidy squad in the forward line in particular where we have some decent players competing for places, he said. Rhys is a young boy but, when he gets his chance, he has a steely mentality. He might only be 17 but hes clever and string willed; put it this way, once he gets his chance, someone is going to be very good to get it back off him. A pacey hungry striker. Sounds good to me
  19. Wishing Cliff all the best..... To infinity and beyond!
  20. That'll be the one he scored v Liverpool at home. We won either 3-1 or 3-0. near post header. to be fair i thought he'd got a touch. it was the season we needed to win the final 3 to stay up v Villa away (1-0) Liverpool and Southampton (4-3) at home......and did. Happy days. Nick Henry's goal v Villa gets a mention in Cantonas autobiography as its the goal that won United's first title in 26 years!
