  1. Posh area Nick! Remember loads of great trips but some classics are of Mark losing his wallet on way back from Workington and a bloke saying to him on the coach: "I saw it on the steps and never thought to pick it up". Mark's reaction was priceless. Remember Triumph Herald well and coming back from a midweek afternoon fixture at Tranmere (cos of power cuts) and car overheating. Made fantastic time but spent an hour at Birch Services waiting for engine to cool down! Going to Aston Villa in Geoff's Rover during petrol shortage and getting beat until referee called match off at half time. Had to stop at nearly every petrol station for our allowed quota of fuel just to get home. Won re-arranged game 1-0 with Alan Young scoring.
  2. I do indeed - playing for time from first minute and George McVitie launching it over the stand near the end. Thought the Plymouth fans were applauding us when we went on pitch not realising they were after our blood!
  3. Don't know last time I saw her. See Brian and Mark regularly, Geoff occasionally and saw Steve (aka Muscles) in the summer.
  4. Comment after his first training session with Donny: “We do like to get the footballs out early, that is what you do in a football match you play football."
  5. Interesting to see CB coaching from the side whilst supposedly 'warming up'. Great ploy
  6. Don't know what all the fuss is about re bad ref geting the 'big' decision wrong - we get 'em every week!!
  7. Gutted that they moved the match from Wednesday to Tuesday but will be 'wired' in whilst sat on the front row of Lion King at the Palace Theatre!!
  8. That's the problem - who do we bring in? Someone exciting with no/not a lot of experience and pray we won't go down or a steady Eddie who you know will motivate players and get the best out of them as in Dowie's previous time with us and, hopefully, get them up the league. Down to the usual suspects - Dowie, Brown, Grayson - I think
  9. Very boring! Whilst I appreciate he probably is a great motivator he hasn't actually set the football management world alight. Suppose it's a case of better the devil you know - but would hope we could do better
  10. v Bristol Rovers away. 3-0 down at half time and came back to draw 3-3. Made it home to watch it again on MOTD
  11. No, not all season ticket holders. Seats available nearer the halfway line
  12. Think Tarky will only get better playing alongside an experienced pro like Cliff.
  13. They don't get more than 4,000 for their homes games
  14. Box to box we were very good for 35 minutes of the first half and were the best side but again no cutting edge and no idea of defending set pieces. Hate to say this but unless we get street wise we will be in trouble. How many teams have we played that have got 'road menders' in their back four? Might not be pretty to watch but it is effective and they CAN defend set pieces. Similarly, we have nowt up front and are in real danger of not scoring again this season. I am not negative but hate coming away from games where we have probably played the better football but come away with the opposing manager saying: 'Oldham are probably the best football team we've played this season'. Sheffield Wednesday today do a job simply and effectively and get result.
