  1. Looking to take my old man on Tuesday, he needs the car though whereas I walk in. Apart from the main car park, does anyone know if the hospital or b&q still allow sneaky parking?
  2. Looked in store yesterday and the old badge just looks wrong, not a patch on my toffs top, looks cheap in my opinion, shame really
  3. Anyone know if these are available in store, fancy seeing the quality up close before taking the plunge?
  4. Twitter feed dropped, again another massive PR blunder from OAFC not getting it shut down earlier, could have avoided some of the chatter around stuff other than football. Seriously how do we employ people to do this role, I have zero experience and could do a better job, heard we like taking risks, might apply next time it comes round, what's the worst that could happen ?
  5. Only a year deal, doesn't smack of confidence does it?
  6. Getting silly now, top clubs in Europe don't have this much drama attached to an appointment, why is it taking so bloody long!!
  7. To be fair I've just had a quick look over corneys Twitter, he's but some dodgy comments on there himself, feel me laughing at Blackpool has come back to bite me!
  8. In principal this is right, but when managing people/team it's not. You have to act proffessional otherwise how can your staff/players take you seriously? He's already at a disadvantage of not being known, players who had never heard of him, and they do what week and Google him and find that joke of a Twitter page, can't fault them for moving on if they do, and God help us get players in, no contacts, no credability either, 24hrs later and I still can't get my head around it??
  9. I really hope so, only problem with this is Kelly and Holden have no experience of properly blooding kids and know how to protect them, also negative football is not what young lads flourish in, need enthusiasm to be encouraged but playing across the middle with one up top I can't see working? When will we get someone in who just goes for it and attack teams properly, so bloody depressing
  10. to be fair no one does, most of us fans have more managerial experience through football manager and fifa! Seriously though, anyone who says this is a good appointment is mad, this was the time were everything had the chance to come together, just needed to be positive, summary of next season=15th place, learning curve, low attendance, loan players coming and going, youth not given chance
  11. Makes me wonder how successful businessmen come into football and make these sort of decisions, very much doubt he'd appoint an inexperienced manager when looking at his company, so why do it with the Club. Until we get an honest transparent approach from corney, truth is we will never know. For all his positive comments during fans forums and radio interviews, he really shows no ambition for the club, the club needs some new voices in the boardroom and a new approach on how to engage with the fans and the community and fast!
  12. Still calling it boundary park I see in the press? Happy days
  13. Took charge of some secret training, with the following opinion apparently? "I asked Paul, in a private moment, to be honest with me about the lads and their ability and he was sincere when he said that he'd watched Oldham play a couple of times this season and he thought that many of our players were technically their equal" Seems a little harsh to compare us technically to a conference north club?
  14. Hi all, For anyone who loves live music, David Kitt is playing in Oldham this Friday at the Royal Oak on Union Street (under GoGo club banner) Tickets are available here: http://www.wegottickets.com/event/224162 If you have yet to stumble on the GoGo club, what better time than when a well renowned musician comes to town! cheers paul
  15. think we need to know what the criteria was to even get an interview, would have thought it would at least have been around experience but clearly not? Baffled!
  16. why bother waiting until 2pm when the chron have confirmed it? http://www.oldham-chronicle.co.uk/news-features/10/oldham-athletic-news/78758/latics-name-new-manager
  17. Anyone else thinking we wont be making an announcement until after the Everton game? Its clearly going to be a tough game and what better way to pick up the fans and players by making an announcement on the manager after? If we win, it keeps the euphoria going, if we lose, it picks us back up? Not a bad tactic.
  18. I was sat goal level at the end he missed! Always blamed him rather than Hughes for everything that followed. Such a quality striker and he missed a "sitter", no excuse. To echo an earlier post, i was never the same after that game, 1st and only time I cried at a match (I was 15 at the time)
  19. For those if you who can remember, how much did that game remind you of our game against Sheffield Wednesday back in the day that got us the championship?
  20. well i got my new shirt but feel dirty for going in JD, i'm way too old but did appreciate the girl who works there with in lycra pants! Does anyone know if we get a lower cut of the sale for any kits sold through JD?
  21. I to have worked in retail and this is more from a business point of view, I'm sure if you were running your own business the you would look to maximise trade? I'm not talking every bank holiday buying just think what with the kit launch it's a missed opportunity? I for one fancy buying the new kit but what with me working 9-5 mon-fri I don't really want to buy from JD sports, and as we all know you go into a club shop and end up buying other stuff, in my case I'm a sucker for a mug! I think sometimes we forget that the club shop is exactly that, a shop, any how it was just a thought!
  22. New shirt, lots of orders, won the match and the suns shining. What do we do, close the shop today and bank holiday Monday when most people off? Have the club missed a chance to open specially to allow extra time to purchase the kit??
  23. My point exactly, Wycombe are grafting for a point rather than trying for all 3 which are currently not strong enough to get? I'm worried and thats the first time I've ever said that!!
  24. So far i cant see that anyone has discussed this. Every year there is always a team that charges into the top 6 and likewise 1 always drops into relegation zone. On current form is that team us? Whilst i admire dickov for attempting to play good football, when does he push the button and grind out points, as of yet he appears to stubborn to do this. I like dickov, i really do but every manager has to recognise in certain times going for a point is nothing to be ashamed for?? thoughts??
