  1. There’s a few people on here who used to contribute https://thefootballmancave.com/2019/08/03/memories-of-the-80s-fanzine-phenomenon-recalled-this-weekend-by-oldham-athletic-fans/
  2. When I was running Beyond The Boundary, I was approached by a chap called Daniel Youngs a professional photographer trying to sell matchday photos. As he had permission to take photos inside football grounds, all the images I bought off him were unique. Daniel is now the official photographer for Rochdale FC and as I was having a sort out today, I found three CD's of photos I bought off him. The games were Tranmere (H), Wycombe (A) and Mansfield (H). The Wycombe game was on 20.9.03 and the Mansfield game was the one were Clive Wijnhard scored 4. The Tranmere game is going to be from around that time too. There are 51 photos of the Tranmere game, 68 of the Wycombe game and 65 of the Mansfield game. The CD's include crowd photo's and manager photo's (David Eyres and Iain Dowie). There is also a shot of a Latics fan taking part in a half time pie eating contest! I personally don't want any money for these. However, knowing that it would be sacriledge to throw these away, I thought that if anybody wanted them and was prepared to offer money for them it could be donated to Playershare. I'm open to suggestions. They are all high quality images and the one of Eyresy celebrating a goal in front of the Lookers Stand is a classic! Here's a brief preview. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/hwz6hga2689i3o5/AAAPCjs-nV93egKxemU-dx4Za?dl=0
  3. It was Alan Hardy who was against it. Big Joe had a rant in the programme about it but to be honest it was misinformed nonsense. Anybody who read BTB would never have accused us of being "anti-player and anti-club". He (Royle) went on to write that we were probably Blackburn Rovers fans in disguise "determined to undermine the success at the club". We just printed 'The Voice of Blackburn Rovers Fans' on the cover and 'It's anti-club and anti-player and it's still only 60p'. We didn't get any more comments.
  4. Absolutely spot-on. I did consider putting them all on line but I just didn't have the time. The height of BTB's popularity was the 91-92 season when we were out-selling the programme but compare that with the 2004 season when I was lucky to shift 300 and it gives you some idea of how low crowds and the internet affected it. I'm genuinely touched that people would like to see its return but sorry, it's not going to happen.
  5. I'm delighted people still remember BTB but I'm hardly a legend! I still look at some of the old issues - I don't know how we got away with some of the stuff we printed. The Town Hall Steps issue came about after we walked into the away end at Ewood Park. By the time we'd taken up our places behind the goal, we'd been given loads of articles, photo's etc and the Town Hall steps photo was amongst them. I've no idea who took the photo but it was brilliant. We couldn't have picked a better time to start a fanzine - August 1989 and it was a fantastic buzz to sit in the Chaddy End at half time and watch people reading it. Pete
  6. Yes the firework cover was issue no 3 if I remember rightly. It coincided with the club starting to get a bit frosty with us!
  7. Seriously I have no problem with you using the name but I'd prefer if you pointed out that it has nothing to do with the fanzine. Of course, older people will always ask if it's anything to do with the original BTB so it's your choice. Whenever the subject of the fanzine crops up on here there are always loads of kind comments which I seriously appreciate. I hope you get the same sort of comments about your blog in 24 (yikes is it that long ago!!) years time. Pete Mason
  8. Absolutely, Main Stand, Grey Block, Row D (Sorry, I signed in with Facebook earlier - Pete)
  9. Can't wait to hear the list of managers who "would do a good job here".
  10. Absolutely agree. Best keeper since Kelly.
  11. You can add me as well. Some sort of complication occured when I paid by Paypal but I got the confirmation email. You can use the money for whatever you see fit and I applaud your efforts no matter how trivial they may seem to some.
  12. Two, Four, Six and a quarter. Who are Latics going to slaughter...(add name of opposition). NB. This is from pre-decimal days.
  13. Steve has been in touch with me. I'm sending him the article. Thanks for forwarding my email address to him. Pete
  14. Only 35 comments after a win. If we'd lost, there would be 35 pages.
  15. My design for the return of the sloping pitch was shelved unfortunately.
  16. Many thanks to the driver of the black BMW with the OAFC number plate on the M180 who let us know the game was off. Mind you, pulling alongside us at 75mph and pulling his finger across his throat is perhaps not the best way of getting the message across.
  17. I remember once seeing a protest staged by the fans of an Italian club - possibly Lazio. They all stayed at the back of the stand for the first ten minutes of the game, leaving the entire stand deserted, their intention being to demonstate what future games would look like if the club did something against their wishes.
  18. I bought tickets from Latics and they don't match the category 'C'. I queried it but ended up paying £19 £12 under 16's and over 60's £4 under 12's
  19. Three and possibly four of us making the shorter route from Lincoln. Just one thought, how are you going to get the 'No moaning day' message across to those who have never heard of OWTB?
  20. I got this warning off Norton when I logged on. Any ideas?
