  1. Prices have to be agreed between both clubs, and Hendon will want to make as much money as they can from the game, as will have Mickleover
  2. Even though we're in a lowly league, the club is in a better state than it's been for many a year. The future should be bright!
  3. The BBC commentary page takes the direct feed for the commentary for each game, it's quite good. It doesn't just tune you in to that particular radio station. Just be prepared, sometimes you only get silence right up until kick off.
  4. Thanks to everyone at the club for following through with this, our family had a fantastic day on Saturday, we were well looked after We were on a table with Joe Royle himself, so seeing my dad just get to natter away with him all day was fantastic https://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/news/2023/october/30102023-simon-barnett-75-years/
  5. Sounds like a knowledgeable lad. All players are going to have some sort of drawbacks at this level, it's just a question of if you're able to mask them and accentuate the positives, or if the deficiencies are just too obvious and exploitable. Of course opposition players at this level might but be good enough to exploit them either, it goes both ways. Sheron in particular is an interesting one, bit inconsistent, but I like him a lot on his good days, and he should get that consistency as he goes into his later 20s. I think people assume he's older than he has (just turned 25 I think)
  6. At the game with my dad, sister and nephew, and Luke Rothwell and Darren Royle have just been chatting with us for ages, just reinforcing how good we've got it with them. It came up that this October will be my dad's 75th anniversary of his first ever game, and we've been offered to go in the directors' box as their guests! We're thrilled, simple gesture I suppose but we're blown away, great start to the day, three points would top it off nicely!
  7. Couto still only 19, but it's correct to say he needs to play games or risk his career stalling. But TNS are full time, so a good opportunity for him to push on there.
  8. The comment was that he was hoping to get three more players in by the Southend game.
  9. Last time I can remember this much buzz about a new striker was Luke Beckett. It's never felt like we're a club who gets these players who you just know will bag for fun, so when it does happen it feels all the more special
  10. You could argue that we moved into a 4 at the back when Mansfield came into the final third with Kitching tracking back, but it was very much a 3 at the back system in the main. Hogan played central and was tasked with mopping up any high long balls, and Hobson and Raglan played either side, Hobson clearly not advancing forward as a RB would. He drifted towards the right at some points, to cover for Green who would be exposed if he was asked to defend too much, so I can see why some were caught out. (edit: thought I'd challenge what I thought I saw and asked my dad, he messaged back saying pretty much what I did, but with the amount Mansfield had the ball at the start of the second half it might as well have been a 4)
  11. Don't know about any other games, but he was part of 3 at the back today
  12. Pitch played proper, no demons in it or loose turf line you can get on some freshly laid pitches You can tell it's easier to turn and control the ball First bounce from a long ball takes it on quite a bit, but then it doesn't run out like plastic, it holds up alright Weird to see away fans in main stand but I can't see there being any major issues Raglan looks good
  13. No, not Unsworth, sorry, I was referring to fans putting Raglan at RB in their predicted teams (presumably because they've heard he's played there before, but only a handful of times according to the rarely-wrong transfermarkt!)
  14. Seen a couple of people talk about Raglan at right back He's barely played there in his career and for me you play your best players in their best positions But we'll see
  15. Nice that. We've had seven orange away kits since I was a kid, that's my favourite since the iconic mid-90s one.
  16. I reckon we'll play everyone twice, home and away
  17. Not too overegg the issue of whether we're going to sign this, admittedly good, player or not.. But perhaps don't place too much weight into what Twitter gossip says, one way or the other (and that goes for all unofficial sources really), especially when a relatively short time has passed. In the end, it's all speculation, as is my next sentence. Yes, his agent seems the sort to run at the last minute, Clyde Wijnhard style, but on the other hand it could be that it's sorted and we're now negotiating with Solihull over their compensation fee. Who knows who else we might be after, I'd love another Raglan moment
  18. Nice, was also my sixth one, really blown me away again this year, feeling really grateful for it all. The bed crowdsurfer was one Woody Cook, Fatboy Jr, haha! @Matt the Four Tet set was on the imposing iicon stage, and by all accounts he played a suitably brain melting DJ set, including a My Bloody Valentine track. Fingers crossed for next year.. https://www.instagram.com/p/CuCUjyuqfm9/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
  19. There has been the odd question mark raised against Darren Royle's past, but he seems like he really knows his onions with football administration. In that respect, the club has been crying out for someone like that since probably Alan Hardy was chief exec.
  20. Worth noting that most non-league contracts end as soon as the season finishes, not on June 30th as is the case in the Prem and EFL. So I'd expect our earlier signings to be from teams our level or lower, and so wouldn't worry that we're not aiming for players coming from higher clubs, if that is the case.
  21. Chesterfield's prices have gone up quite a bit, seem to be about £340/350 on average, yet they've sold slightly more than us. Add to that they've already got a good team together, then they're favourites next season for me, unless Notts County don't go up. But I'd put us right there behind them.
